Our lovely apartment in situated in the quaint historic village of Landevennec on the superb Crozon Peninsula which is part of the National Parks of France. In the village the famous abbey and it's museum can be visited and this Abbey still operates. Sometimes music festivals and church services are held here. The coastal path runs through the village and meanders its way through coastal forests and dramatic cliff top scenery. The medieval City of Quimper with its quaint timber framed houses and Cathedral is well worth a visit. On a rainy day a visit to the large aquarium Oceanololis in rest is great fun and you can actually go to Brest by boat from Le Fret about 15 minutes or so from Landevennec.
Numerous sandy coves to vast sandy beaches surround the Peninsula in between the rugged cliff line and the beauty is that parking is so easy, no parking meters at all! and totally uncommercialised.
There are numerous activiities for children of all ages and the vast sandy and uncrowded beaches of the Peninusular are second to none! Great fun can be had kayaking in the sheltered waters, or sandyachting on Pentrez beach. The sheltered waters of the Bay of Douardenez provide safe bathing. From Landevennec the furthest point of the Peninsula would take no more than 25 minutes to reach.
Cliff trop walks are sensational along this coastline. Do browse the lovely landscape photos of the Crozon Peninsula on www.presquile.crozon.free.fr and click on Les plus populaires. All these places named are
