BRAUNTON BRITTONS OVERVIEW

Tasteful elegance are two words that easily describe this bungalow - one is immediately struck by a sense of being 'home' as you enter. Ideal for those who require single level living, BRITTONS benefits from a village location only a short level walk from the heart of Braunton, enabling guests to take advantage of a selection of pubs and restaurants offering a choice of different styles of cuisine. Reputedly one of the largest villages in England it is situated only 2 miles away from the golden sands of Saunton Beach, whilst the renowned blue flag surfing beaches of Croyde and Woolacombe are also within easy reach. BRITTONS offers guests accommodation of exceptional style and comfort. The space inside is light and airy, with rooms that flow seamlessly from one area to another. Looking around, your senses are spoilt, whether it is the well appointed kitchen or the luxurious fabrics throughout, you cannot help enjoying the tactile warmth.

LIVING AREAS

The large lounge is adjacent to the entrance hall and is tastefully decorated with artwork. The focal point of the room is, without doubt, the fireplace. However, the warmth in this room is enhanced by the exposed polished wooden floor and sumptuous chocolate brown leather sofas that just invite relaxation, whilst guests enjoy entertainment from a large wall mounted TV. A natural wood coffee table and cream floor covering provide an attractive yet functional central focus. The use of candles and sidelights create a romantic ambiance.

KITCHEN

The double aspect, open plan kitchen and dining area is spacious and flooded with light. The cream coloured kitchen units exude a modern feel and are complemented perfectly by the solid wood floor and light work surfaces, the whole effect is completed by the use of halogen down lights. An island unit provides a great work area and storage space. As you would expect, the kitchen is equipped to a high standard, appliances include an electric double oven, grill and hob, fully integrated dishwasher and built-in microwave. Just off the kitchen there is a utility room housing a fridge/freezer, tumble drier, washing machine, clothes drying racks and hanging space for wetsuits.

The dining area has a good sized wooden table and also a richly coloured purple sofa, a perfect seat from which to enjoy the wall mounted flat screen TV.

BEDROOMS

Bedroom 1 is the luxurious master bedroom, with en-suite shower room and WC. the double bed offers the perfect spot for tranquil relaxation.

Bedroom 2 offers flexible sleeping accommodation as the twin beds therein can be linked to form a large double.

Bedroom 3 offers up a perfect children's den being equipped with two sets of bunk beds.

BATHROOM

The polished wooden floor and white family bathroom suite create a modern looking bathroom with a warm feel. A shower is above the bath whilst a shower screen helps to protect the floor from water splashes. Polished chrome fittings harmonise with the white porcelain suite whilst the polished chrome heated towel rail provides an added degree of warmth to the room.

The master bedroom has an en-suite with shower enclosure, WC and basin.

OUTDOORS

Go through the double french doors from the kitchen and you will discover the ample garden and attractive decked area that presents the perfect location for al-fresco dining, whether you are breakfasting in the morning sunlight or preparing to enjoy a bar-b-que as the summer evening light fades. An added luxury for those returning from the beach is a heated outdoor shower.

The beaches at Croyde and Woolacombe regularly win awards for cleanliness and safety and are manned by lifeguards througout the summer months.

Most of the region appears to be untouched by time as sleepy, windy lanes reveal thatched roofed cottages and historic buildings and villages such as Lynton in the north of the region and Clovelly in the south. The village of Croyde has many examples of cobb walled, thatched cottages.

The coastline is as rugged as it is beautiful dotted with magnificent cliffs, tiny cove and picturesque harbours. It was once the haunt of smugglers, pirates and wreckers and the fascinating history is retold in many small museums along the coast. Today visitors who love Henry Williamson's famous Tarka the Otter can retrace Tarka's journey by following the Tarka Trail.

Croyde

WALK TO - Braunton and surrounds is a great place for days out with family and friends. Many local restaurants and pubs offer a superb variety of food and entertainment such as Squires (great fish and chips), At One (Tapas Evenings), The George Pub (great local food as well as Thai Cuisine) and The Williams Arms (well renowned Sunday roasts). Entertainment facilities are available for all ages.

CYCLE TO - cyclists can enjoy the 30-mile Tarka Trail tracking the scenic coastline of North Devon.

DRIVE TO - the beaches of Saunton, Croyde, Putsborough and Woolacombe are only a short drive away (note to pet owners: Saunton, Putsborough and Woolacombe have demarcated pet-friendly areas for your dog). A day at historic Braunton Burrows is great for walkers. Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park, The Milky Way and The Big Sheep all within a short driving distance.

For the more adventurous, kite surfing, surfing, horse riding and kayaking are popular sports in the area. Cultural days can be passed at Arlington Court, historic Clovelly Village, Watermouth Castle, Lynton, Lynmouth and many more. Saunton Golf Course is a mere 3 miles down the road with its 2 famous links courses. Finally, picturesque walks through beautiful forested areas and running rivers such as at Watersmeet will complete your wonderful stay in the beautiful part of England.
