The West Country region

North Devon is fast becoming one of the country's' top destinations for holidays at any time of year. There is very good access to the area with a new dual carriageway joining the M5 from Junction27. The area is renowned as having some of the most beautiful scenery in the UK, with Exmoor and Dartmoor National Parks to explore, some of the finest golden sandy beaches many with blue flags. An ideal place to bring families down on holidays - safe and picturesque with so many activities available. There are superb walks, especially along the coastline - much of which is owned by the National Trust. There are castles and grand houses to visit, there are country towns and pastel coloured fishing villages to discover. There is plenty to do at any time of year. And dont forget of course the obligatory Devon cream teas or freshly made pasties.

Croyde

WALK TO – Croyde is a magical place nestling around a stream running down to the sea. This award-winning sandy beach is fine and flat, ideal for children and good for surfing. With Rock pools are in abundance and dunes a haven for young and intrepid explorers. Local fun parks for the children such as Cascades Pool Park are a great way to spend the day. Croyde Bay is renowned as a premier surfing beach destination in England for short and long boards. For the more adventurous, kite surfing, volley ball, kayaking and horse riding is on your doorstep. Within walking distance of Croyde beach enjoy its ice cream shop, gourmet restaurants, superb village pubs, surf shops, and art gallery. This classic 'chocolate-box' village is steeped in old-world charm and echoes the feeling of life in Britain in times gone by. Coastal and Countryside walks include the majestic Croyde cliff path to Baggy Point, (and for those energetic), to Woolacombe and beyond.

CYCLE TO - A day at historic Braunton Burrows is great. Cyclists can enjoy the 30-mile Tarka Trail tracking the scenic coastline of North Devon.

DRIVE TO – explore the beautiful Exmoor National Park. Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park, The Milky Way and The Big Sheep all within a short driving distance. Cultural days can be passed at Arlington Court, historic Clovelly Village, Watermouth Castle, Lynton, Lynmouth, Victorian-styled Ilfracombe with its quaint fishing harbour and many more. Saunton Golf Course is a mere 3 miles down the road with its 2 famous links courses. Finally, picturesque walks through beautiful forested areas and running rivers such as at Watersmeet will complete your wonderful stay in this beautiful part of England.

"Ideal location, family friendly"

The cottage was clean and comfortable. The beds are comfortable and the shower is a good size. The garden is fully enclosed and away from the road, It is within easy walking distance to Croyde beach and local shops and restaurants (about five minutes) , however it is far enough away to be very peaceful. Wifi and good tv signal an added bonus, sky package an unexpected plus. Postcode to sat nav accurate to 40yard.

The property manager/owner called in to introduce himself and was very friendly.

"total rest and relaxation!"

If you want somewhere quiet but near the beach, accepts dogs and that's clean and tidy and manager's are responsive and helpful - this is your place.
We stayed two weeks and Chris (manager) was really helpful and welcoming to us and our two large dogs!
We can't wait to book to go back - it was just what we needed.

Thank you for taking time to comment, such a pleasure to have guests like you!

"Private and peaceful location."

Excellent location - 2 minute walk to village. Garden was private, peaceful and sunny. Nice views over to dunes and sea. We made a late booking and received a good discount which made the property good value for money. Complimentary car parking at Putsborough beach - saved a small fortune! Free wifi. Only negative was the directions to the property. Eventually found the bungalow set back behind a wall with large grassy area in front - you can't see the house from the road and with no external photos of the property on the ad, a little guess work was required! Would definitely book this bungalow again.

Choice Cottages would like to say thank you very much on behalf of the owner for such wonderful and constructive feedback. We hope to welcome you back soon! Best Wishes, the Choice Cottages Team
