Decorated in a contemporary beach-side theme throughout, this is a charming but practical holiday home. COCKLESHELL, sleeping up to 4 guests, is ideal for families or small groups of friends. Just a short stroll to Croyde Bay's sandy beach and picturesque village shops, COCKLESHELL is positioned in a prime seaside location, the perfect choice for a relaxing and enjoyable summer holiday. Enjoy your own private garden and private parking in this two-bedroomed beach-styled bungalow.


The colourful lounge contains a leather sofa and two chairs, comfortably seating four, with wooden flooring throughout.

A large double-glazed window lets in lots of sunlight, giving the room a bright, sunny feel. On colder evenings put on the log-effect fire and curl up with a book from the bookshelf. There is a TV/DVD player, CD player and DVDs provided. A dining area seating five adjoins the lounge area. Quality furnishings and attention to detail really make this property a home from home.


The front door opens into a small utility area containing a washing machine, and then opens into the kitchen. Wood laminate flooring, light blue walls and white tiles continue the nautical theme. With a fridge-freezer, microwave, oven, hob, toaster and all the essential utensils, this modest but practical kitchen will fulfil all your cooking needs. Stored in the utility area is a croquet set, mini golf set, boules and badminton equipment, ideal for games in the garden or on the beach.


Bedroom 1 contains a double bed, white wood panelled walls and a marine feel. There is a wardrobe, two bedside tables, and chest of drawers, with digital radio on top and mirror above. This room provides plenty of space to store clothes and luggage.

Bedroom 2 contains 2 single beds, is brightly decorated, with a mirror and walls painted in a light blue. The window overlooks the back garden. Clothes can be stored in a wardrobe and chest of drawers.


From the lounge there is a small corridor, leading to the bedrooms, with two doors on your left hand side. The first door contains a bath with shower overhead, sink with mirror above and pebble effect flooring. The second door contains a separate WC.


Park on the private driveway to the right hand side of the house, and enter through a gate into the back garden, where stepping stones lead you to the front door. A lawned garden wraps around COCKLESHELL, enclosed by a picket fence. A table has been provided for disposable BBQ's, great for al fresco dining any time of the year.

An outdoor shower and tap are great for washing off sand and wetsuits after a day at the beach.

The West Country region

North Devon is fast becomming one of the countrys' top destinations for holidays at any time of year. There is very good access to the area with a new dual carriageway joining the M5 from Junction27. The area is renowned as having some of the most beautiful scenery in the UK, with Exmoor and Dartmoor National Parks to explore, some of the finest golden sandy beaches many with blue flags. An ideal place to bring families down on holidays - safe and picturesque with so many activities available. There are superb walks, expecially along the coastline - much of which is owned by the National Trust. There are castles and grand houses to visit, there are country towns and pastel coloured fishing villages to discover. There is plenty to do at any time of year. And dont forget of course the obligitary devon cream teas or freshly made pasties.


WALK TO - Croyde is a magical place nestling around a stream running down to the sea. This award-winning sandy beach is fine and flat, ideal for children and good for surfing. With Rock pools in abundance and dunes a haven for young and intrepid explorers. Local fun parks for the children such as Cascades Pool Park are a great way to spend the day. Croyde Bay is renowned as a premier surfing beach destination in England for short and long boards. For the more adventurous, kite surfing, volley ball, kayaking and horse riding is on your doorstep. Within walking distance of Croyde beach enjoy its ice cream shop, gourmet restaurants, superb village pubs, surf shops, and art gallery. This classic 'chocolate-box' village is steeped in old-world charm and echoes the feeling of life in Britain in times gone by. Coastal and Countryside walks include the majestic Croyde cliff path to Baggy Point, (and for those energetic), to Woolacombe and beyond.

CYCLE TO - A day at historic Braunton Burrows is great. Cyclists can enjoy the 30-mile Tarka Trail tracking the scenic coastline of North Devon.

DRIVE TO - Explore the beautiful Exmoor National Park. Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park, The Milky Way and The Big Sheep all within a short driving distance. Cultural days can be passed at Arlington Court, historic Clovelly Village, Watermouth Castle, Lynton, Lynmouth, Victorian-styled Ilfracombe with its quaint fishing harbour and many more. Saunton Golf Course is a mere 3 miles down the road with its 2 famous links courses. Finally, picturesque walks through beautiful forested areas and running rivers such as at Watersmeet will complete your wonderful stay in this beautiful part of England.

"A seaside retreat"

We had a lovely stay in cockleshells. It is compact, smaller than the photos depict but cosy, comfortable, clean and welcoming. It has been decorated and furnished in a way which gives a beachy feel… More

"Compact, comfortable and well equiped chalet close to beach"

Cockleshell is ideal for a holiday by the beach. The chalet is compact, but comfortable and well equipped for a family. Lovely touches like the welcome goodies were much appreciated as we could make a cup of tea before unpacking! We love Croyde and have stayed in a number of properties over the years.
