About the home
The cottage is ideally situated to take advantage of Croyde Bay and the surrounding countryside. The beach is just 500 metres away, learn or develop your surfing or just walk along the sand! If you don't fancy the beach, the cottage is right on the coastal path with a view of Baggy Point.
Take an evening stroll up the point and back to take in the sunset. If all this is too much, you can relax on the deck around the swimming pool looking out to sea, maybe barbecuing dinner as the sun goes down.
Inside the cottage is comfortably appointed with a huge main room with seating for all (up to 10). Relax in North Devon at Baggy Cottage!

Baggy Cottage is well appointed and offers a great base from which to explore the North Devon coast. If the weather turns a bit "British" Baggy Cottage has a wonderful huge lounge with log burner that can comfortably seat 10 people.
There is also a window seat that allows sweeping sea views, the most popular seat in the house. The kitchen has all appliances allowing even the keenest chef the opportunity to rustle up dinner!

The pool is heated from approximately mid June to end August. However this period may be extended if demand is there.
The BBQ is available on the decking surrounding the pool from where you can see across the Bay to Lundy Island and Hartland Point.
There is plenty of parking for 5 cars - the house is accessed along a private road within the National Trust reserve of Baggy Point.
Conditions
Baggy Cottage is available for week long stays (or multiple weeks) all year. Outside the summer period it is also possible to rent the house for long weekends - please phone us for details
The West Country / Devon region
The Croyde Bay area of North Devon is rugged, exciting and interesting for all but the most hardened outdoor enthusiast while there is more for other interests, from the gardens of Marwood and RHS Rosemoor to easy access to the walks and wild areas of Exmoor.
We get our share of sun (by UK standards!). While sunny weather is not guaranteed, when the sun is out it is as pleasant a place to be as anywhere.
The Croyde area
Places to visit include Exmoor, RHS Rosemoor, Marwood Gardens. Activities include what's listed plus Coasteering, Sea Kayaking, Surfing and Sailing.
Top Tip is to visit Lundy Island for a day trip, trips run from Bideford (30 mins away) most days depending on weather. It is a unique place with a completely different feel to the mainland.

North Devon is tricky to get to and get around on public transport. The best thing to do if you are visiting from abroad is to hire a car and explore the region. Flying into Bristol or Exeter is convenient for the South West, any of the London Airports will be at least 4 hours drive to get to North Devon.
It is possible to visit using the train, taxis are available from Barnstaple station to Croyde, but getting around once you are here will require more taxis, unless you stay in Croyde, which is walkable. You could buy any food you need in the village, although the choice is not huge!
