The Devon region

North Devon is one of the most beautiful areas of the British Isles. It boasts miles of unspoilt and award winning beaches. The coastline is one of the most popular surfing venues in the country, with Croyde being the most popular.

The coastline is as rugged as it is beautiful dotted with magnificent cliffs, tiny cove and picturesque harbours. It was once the haunt of smugglers, pirates and wreckers and the fascinating history is retold in many small museums along the coast. Today visitors who love Henry Williamson's famous Tarka the Otter can retrace Tarka's journey by following the Tarka Trail.

Along the coastline surrounding a natural harbour is Ilfracombe with its Victorian architecture, Esplanade and famous Tunnels Beach. The harbour is always busy with fishing boats sailing in and out together with the paddle steamer Balmoral which offers day trips to Lundy Island. North Devon has something to offer and appeal to everyone.

There are activities available for all ages. For children there are fun attractions such as 'The Big Sheep' and 'Dinosaur World'. For the sports fan, there is golf, horse riding, cycling, surfing, kayaking, rock climbing and many other activities all within a 40 minute drive from Barnstaple, the region's major town.

Looking for a North Devon Holiday Cottage or Self Catering Holidays in Devon then you are at the right place!

"Fantastic, everything we wanted and more!"

Stayed here for a last minute long weekend break and had a fantastic time. We primarily went for the surfing and the cottage was perfect for that, had everything we needed including a nice big bath for the end of the day!

Its a 4 person house but I think with 4 adults you could end up getting under each others skin slightly. However 2 adults a 2 children, not a problem.

It was furnished to a high standard and right in the centre of Croyde, walking distance to the beach as well.

Would I go back? Within a heartbeat! Loved every minute of it.

Thank you very much for your great feedback! We are pleased that you have had such a good experience and look forward to assisting you with your next holiday. Kind Regards, Choice Cottages
