BEACHCOMBER is a luxury character cottage, ideally situated in the heart of the small friendly village of Croyde, and within walking distance of the beach. Just opposite is the Thatch pub and down the road are ice cream shops, gourmet restaurants, stores and more village pubs. You can’t help but feel spoilt by the location of this beautiful cottage. Countryside walks are available directly from the property and include the majestic Croyde cliff path to Baggy Point, and for the energetic, to Woolacombe and beyond. Just a short drive away are the beaches of Woolacombe, Putsborough and Saunton, all excellent surfing beaches. The interior of the cottage is modern with touches of ivory, dark stained woods and African influences, while retaining country character with original beams, leaded windows, latched doors and hard-wood flooring. BEACHCOMBER is your perfect base, where you are guaranteed to recharge your batteries and leave with some wonderful memories.

LIVING AREAS
The entrance hall leads into the sitting room, with two leather settees, one of which is a sleeper-sofa. There are stripped pine floors, a large TV/ DVD, plus Sky (full package) as well as convenient extras such as PlayStation 2 and iPod docking station. Original beams, rich colours and plush contemporary furnishings give BEACHCOMBER a luxurious feel. Children’s toys and a selection of DVDs are supplied. There is a dining area with a glass and chrome dining table seating 4 on brown leather chairs, with atmospheric lighting and impressive overhanging chrome chandelier-lamps.
KITCHEN
BEACHCOMBER has a recently refurbished kitchen with breakfast bar. Appliances include an oven, hob, microwave, tall black fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine/drier, toaster, kettle and plenty of kitchen utensils. A breakfast counter with 4 bar stools separates the kitchen from the other living areas.
BEDROOMS
The master bedroom has a super king-size bed (can be made into 2 singles by request), and is decorated in warm chocolates and ochres. In addition to a stripped pine floor, wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside tables and lamps, this luxurious bedroom has a TV/DVD player and CD player with Ipod docking station. Bedroom 2 contains twin beds (can be made into a king-size by request), and enjoys views over the garden and beyond. This room also has a stripped pine floor, wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside tables and lamps, and a TV/DVD player.
BATHROOM
Climb the stairs and straight ahead of you is a luxury bathroom with under-floor heating and tiled walls. Unwind in a large contemporary bath with hot/cold mixer tap. Facilities are modern and of a high quality including a freestanding walk-in shower, floating basin and WC.

Stairs lead up to a first landing, where there is a door to a small private enclosed patio and lawned garden. A garden table with 4 chairs plus a barbeque allow for outdoor entertaining. A surfboard and bodyboards are provided. There is private parking for 1 car right in front of the cottage.

North Devon is one of the most beautiful areas of the British Isles. It boasts miles of unspoilt and award winning beaches. The coastline is one of the most popular surfing venues in the country, with Croyde being the most popular.
The coastline is as rugged as it is beautiful dotted with magnificent cliffs, tiny cove and picturesque harbours. It was once the haunt of smugglers, pirates and wreckers and the fascinating history is retold in many small museums along the coast. Today visitors who love Henry Williamson's famous Tarka the Otter can retrace Tarka's journey by following the Tarka Trail.
Along the coastline surrounding a natural harbour is Ilfracombe with its Victorian architecture, Esplanade and famous Tunnels Beach. The harbour is always busy with fishing boats sailing in and out together with the paddle steamer Balmoral which offers day trips to Lundy Island. North Devon has something to offer and appeal to everyone.
There are activities available for all ages. For children there are fun attractions such as 'The Big Sheep' and 'Dinosaur World'. For the sports fan, there is golf, horse riding, cycling, surfing, kayaking, rock climbing and many other activities all within a 40 minute drive from Barnstaple, the region's major town.

The Croyde area
WALK TO – Croyde is a magical place nestling around a stream running down to the sea. This award-winning sandy beach is fine and flat, ideal for children and good for surfing. With Rock pools are in abundance and dunes a haven for young and intrepid explorers. Local fun parks for the children such as Cascades Pool Park are a great way to spend the day. Croyde Bay is renowned as a premier surfing beach destination in England for short and long boards. For the more adventurous, kite surfing, volley ball, kayaking and horse riding is on your doorstep. Within walking distance of Croyde beach enjoy its ice cream shop, gourmet restaurants, superb village pubs, surf shops, and art gallery. This classic 'chocolate-box' village is steeped in old-world charm and echoes the feeling of life in Britain in times gone by. Coastal and Countryside walks include the majestic Croyde cliff path to Baggy Point, (and for those energetic), to Woolacombe and beyond.
CYCLE TO - A day at historic Braunton Burrows is great. Cyclists can enjoy the 30-mile Tarka Trail tracking the scenic coastline of North Devon.
DRIVE TO – explore the beautiful Exmoor National Park. Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park, The Milky Way and The Big Sheep all within a short driving distance. Cultural days can be passed at Arlington Court, historic Clovelly Village, Watermouth Castle, Lynton, Lynmouth, Victorian-styled Ilfracombe with its quaint fishing harbour and many more. Saunton Golf Course is a mere 3 miles down the road with its 2 famous links courses. Finally, picturesque walks through beautiful forested areas and running rivers such as at Watersmeet will complete your wonderful stay in this beautiful part of England.

Stayed here for a last minute long weekend break and had a fantastic time. We primarily went for the surfing and the cottage was perfect for that, had everything we needed including a nice big bath for the end of the day! Its a 4 person house but I think with 4 adults you could end up getting under each others skin slightly. However 2 adults a 2 children, not a problem. It was furnished to a high standard and right in the centre of Croyde, walking distance to the beach as well. Would I go back? Within a heartbeat! Loved every minute of it.
