The West Country / Devon region
North Devon is one of the most beautiful areas of the British Isles. It boasts miles of unspoilt and award winning beaches. The coastline is one of the most popular surfing venues in the country, with Croyde being the most popular.
The coastline is as rugged as it is beautiful dotted with magnificent cliffs, tiny cove and picturesque harbours. It was once the haunt of smugglers, pirates and wreckers and the fascinating history is retold in many small museums along the coast. Today visitors who love Henry Williamson's famous Tarka the Otter can retrace Tarka's journey by following the Tarka Trail.
Along the coastline surrounding a natural harbour is Ilfracombe with its Victorian architecture, Esplanade and famous Tunnels Beach. The harbour is always busy with fishing boats sailing in and out together with the paddle steamer Balmoral which offers day trips to Lundy Island. North Devon has something to offer and appeal to everyone.
There are activities available for all ages. For children there are fun attractions such as 'The Big Sheep' and 'Dinosaur World'. For the sports fan, there is golf, horse riding, cycling, surfing, kayaking, rock climbing and many other activities all within a 40 minute drive from Barnstaple, the region's major town.
Looking for a North Devon Holiday Cottage or Self Catering Holidays in Devon then you are at the right place!

The whole booking procedure was very straightforward and any queries were promptly answered. The location of the property was all you could ask for with breathtaking views over Croyde Bay.The property was very well equipped and to a high spec with more than enough crockery, cutlery and glasses for our party. The good weather that we had did help and we enjoyed BBQ's on the sundeck in the evenings.A short stroll into Croyde found The Thatch pub where we enjoyed an evening meal and pub lunches washed down with the excellent cider. The ice cream parlour is also recommended for their ice cream and clotted cream cornets! The whole family enjoyed their stay and everyone was reluctant to leave. We would love to return in the future
On behalf of Choice Cottages and the owner, we wish to thank you for your lovely comments regarding your stay at STABLES | Croyde. We are pleased that you had such a good time and hope to welcome you back soon. Best Wishes, the Choice Cottages Team
