CROYDE BEACH HAVEN OVERVIEW

CROYDE BEACH HAVEN, located in the centre of Croyde, is a large, classic property offering contemporary, exceptional holiday accommodation. Positioned in the heart of the village surrounded by the pubs, restaurants and shops and just a short walk from Croyde beach, BEACH HAVEN offers a unique blend of old and new, sleeping up to 14 guests, the home is the perfect place for parties, large families or smaller groups to get together and enjoy your stay in North Devon. This beautiful holiday home enjoys some of the finest sea views of the coast and countryside, with an open vista towards the sand dunes and out across Croyde Bay towards Lundy (Puffin) Island. An ideal property for large groups or several families, the accommodation is bright and spacious, very attractively decorated and furnished to a high standard with some charming features, reclaimed wood and slate floors.

LIVING AREAS

The inviting entrance hall leads to the ground floor shower room with large shower enclosure, basin and WC to the left, ground floor bedroom to the right and then leading to the principle sitting room.

This is a great room for relaxing and furnished with three four-seater leather settees, large wall-mounted flat screen TV, VHS player, DVD player, Full Sky Package, CD stereo system as well as Wi-Fi Zone. A large selection of DVD's and books are available for your use. From the lounge, experience lovely open views of the ocean-facing decking and enclosed garden.

Patio doors from the kitchen open into the second, conservatory, seating area. A fantastic area for those wanting the feel of the outdoors indoors, the conservatory has further sofa seating for six, an additional TV and DVD unit, Playstation 2, as well as large coffee table doubling up as a treasure trove filled with many toys for the younger generation.

KITCHEN

The lounge opens up into the kitchen and dining area with oak-fitted units, slate tiled floor, double oven and touch control ceramic hob and extractor fan, microwave, large fridge with matching freezer, dishwasher and automatic washing machine. The kitchen is very well equipped for all catering needs and also has a fold-away ironing board with iron. The double large glass dining table, which expands to accommodate large parties, is ideal for entertaining.

BEDROOMS

There are 5 upstairs bedrooms and 1 bedroom on the ground floor:

Bedroom 1 is a large, wooden-floored bedroom with the option of a super-king bed which can convert to separate twin beds, crisp linen and sea views.

This room, as with bedroom 2 is large enough to accommodate a cot or fold-out bed. A tall cupboard is provided for clothes storage.

Bedroom 2 is a south-facing, large bedroom again the option of a super-king bed which can convert to separate twin beds and country views. Ample storage for clothing is provided in all bedrooms.

Bedroom 3 has stunning sea views from the balcony and accommodates up to 3 with a double bed and single bunk over for flexibility.

Bedroom 4 has the same bed layout as bedroom 3 with the double bed below and single bunk above.

Bedroom 5 has a set of bunk beds, chest of drawers and country views.

Bedroom 6 on the ground floor level is an extremely versatile and comfortable room with the option of a super-king bed which can convert to separate twin beds as well as ample storage and feature fireplace. A reading corner with two chairs provides a quiet area.

BATHROOMS

The upstairs family bathroom is traditionally styled with a roll top bath, pedestal basin, WC, pine floors, dado panelling and sea views.

An additional upstairs shower room has a large shower enclosure, basin, WC & chrome heated towel rail.

OUTDOORS

From the conservatory, double doors to the left lead to the raised deck area with hot tub as well as hot outdoor shower for rinsing the beach sand off after a great day at the beach and dedicated board waxing/storage area. Buckets, spades, children's ride-on, body board and 2 surf boards are provided for your use.

Through the left side of the conservatory, another set of double doors take you on to the raised deck area with built-in BBQ as well as the enclosed lawned garden. A fabulous spot for alfresco eating or just relaxing in privacy and sunshine. There are outdoor tables, chairs, sun loungers and courtesy surf and body boards. The garden overlooks farmland and is also equipped with a children's swing and slide set as well as mini action course (use of the play equipment is at your own risk).

The Devon region

The North Devon Coast

For spectacular scenery and beautiful beaches whatever the season, there's no better place in England than North Devon coast and in particular Croyde. The beaches are recognised as possibly some of the finest and cleanest in Europe - with two miles of soft golden sand, plenty of rock pools and amazing surf.

The coastline is as rugged as it is beautiful dotted with magnificent cliffs, tiny cove and picturesque harbours. It was once the haunt of smugglers, pirates and wreckers and the fascinating history is retold in many small museums along the coast. Today visitors who love Henry Williamson's famous Tarka the Otter can retrace Tarka's journey by following the Tarka Trail.

CYCLE TO - A day at historic Braunton Burrows is great. Cyclists can enjoy the 30-mile Tarka Trail tracking the scenic coastline of North Devon.

DRIVE TO – explore the beautiful Exmoor National Park. Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park, The Milky Way and The Big Sheep all within a short driving distance. Cultural days can be passed at Arlington Court, historic Clovelly Village, Watermouth Castle, Lynton, Lynmouth, Victorian-styled Ilfracombe with its quaint fishing harbour and many more. Saunton Golf Course is a mere 3 miles down the road with its 2 famous links courses. Finally, picturesque walks through beautiful forested areas and running rivers such as at Watersmeet will complete your wonderful stay in this beautiful part of England.

Croyde is ideally located within easy reach of the harbours of Clovelly and Lynmouth which are also perfect places to relax. Meander through the streets of Lynmouth and take a ride on the unique water powered cliff railway to the twin town of Lynton which is perched high on the cliffs. Clovelly is another of the prettiest coastal village where it feels as if time stood still. The only means of transport on these famous cobbled streets are donkeys and sleds.

Along the coastline surrounding a natural harbour is Ilfracombe with its Victorian architecture, Esplanade and famous Tunnels Beach. The harbour is always busy with fishing boats sailing in and out together with the paddle steamer Balmoral which offers day trips to Lundy Island. North Devon has something to offer and appeal to everyone, take time to come and find out for yourselves, we will make you very welcome.

Croyde

Croyde is a magical place nestling around a stream running down to the sea. This award-winning sandy beach is fine and flat, ideal for children and good for surfing. Rock pools are in abundance and dunes a haven for young and intrepid explorers. Local fun parks for the children such as Cascades Pool Park are a great way to spend the day. Croyde Bay is renowned as a premier surfing beach destination in England for short and long boards. For the more adventurous, kite surfing, volley ball, kayaking and horse riding is on your doorstep. Within walking distance of Croyde beach enjoy its ice cream shop, gourmet restaurants, superb village pubs, surf shops, and art gallery. This classic 'chocolate-box' village is steeped in old-world charm and echoes the feeling of life in Britain in times gone by. Coastal and Countryside walks include the majestic Croyde cliff path to Baggy Point, (and for those energetic), to Woolacombe and beyond.

"Lovely home with everything you could need for a quiet coastal weekend away"

The customer service was friendly and professional whilst the property was well equipped and homely.
The hot tub is great addition.

"Great and very well equipped holiday home"

The Beach Haven, Hobbs Hill, Croyde is a great house for an extended family holiday. Loads of space for everyone from 3 generations, outside shower and hot tub with a view were brilliant, the kitchen was very well equipped and the dinning table properly big enough for 12. We wondered whether the parking and proximity to the pub/road might be a problem but it wasn't. The two parking spaces were tight but usable and we parked our 3rd car in the Village Hall car park for just £20 for the week. The road and pub were not noisy enough to bother us in the house or the garden.
All in all an excellent large, well fitted out Croyde holiday home that we wouldn't hesitate to recommend or use again

"Restful, comfortable, home from home and very close to the pub!!"

10 of us stayed here as a base for a surf week at Saunton Sands. It's central location for the pubs, restaurants and shops of Croyde were perfect, just 20 steps away and not at all noisy. The hot tub was a most welcome delightafter a day in the surf and so too was the outside shower to rinse down 10 wetsuits!!!

The house was homely and airey. Beds were comfortable, towels were soft and fluffy. We loved it and enjoyed staying at this house.

"Great house for a group of friends who want enjoy Croyde"

Great location next to the Thatch. Hot tub key to the fun although note you have to pay a supplement. Great living area. We were there during the Euros and was perfect for watching the games, We were 6 couples and there was plenty of room. W've used Choice Cottages for 5 years now and they've always been great...

"We fell in love with this house"

Grandparents, aunts, uncles, young children. Perfect for all of us. Great location whether you wish to walk to the beach or stay in the garden (great views and spa). The bedrooms are spacious and stylish and the beds super comfortable.

The owners have thought of everything and it created a beautiful memory for a family normally separated by many miles.

"amazing weekend"

Fab weekend away with friends, adults and children. Lovely house, amazing pub nearby and long beach walks/horse rides. Only downsides were with the very cold weather the downstairs bedroom and hall were very cold despite heating. A minor point of very minimal cleaning equipment e.g. washing up liquid/sponge/wiping cloths, didn't think to bring own! Hoping to come back next year.
