The West Country region
North Devon is fast becomming one of the country's top destinations for holidays at any time of year. There is very good access to the area witha new dual carriageway joining the M5 from Junction 27 and bridge at Barnstaple.
The area is renowned as having some of the most beautiful scenery in the UK with Exmoor and Dartmoor National Parks to explore, some of the finest golden sandy beaches many with blue flags. There are supberb walks, expecially along the coastline - much of which is owned by the National Trust and are in protected Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are castles and grand houses to visit, there are country towns and pastel coloured fishing villages to discover.
There are childrens adventure parks, golfing, horse riding, fishing, shooting, coastal villages, moors, ferry trips (a list to long to mention of things to do).
Putsborough is a beautiful hamlet of traditional thatched devonshire houses a couple of minutes walk from the golden sandy beach of Putsborough which is 3 miles long with the popular holiday destination of Woolacombe nestled at the far end. Putsborough is very close to Croyde Bay a couple of minutes drive by car but also accessible via a footpath/bridal way approx 3/4 mile. The beautiful Saunton Sands is the next beach to Croyde, the nearest larger town is Braunton about 4 miles away.
The village of Georgeham 1 mile away also offers facilties such as 2 child and dog friendly pubs offering great food, well stocked village store and post office.

Well done Claire and John you have made this a perfect place to stay we did not want to leave, the cottage and garden is fabulous and so peaceful and is the best we have ever stayed in and had everything that you would ever need . Putsborough beach was a short walk away and we spent some lovely days there with the children and our dog Molly and found everyone in pubs and cafes extremely dog friendly. "Superb cottage in a great location"
We were delighted by the Garden cottage. It's spacious, beautifully designed and finished to a high standard. The open living area makes cooking and eating very sociable. The amazing beach and rock pools are a few hundred metres walk away and the coast path is on the doorstep. All the comforts of home including top quality appliances, Sky tv, wi-fi, bbq and excellent quality showers and jacuzzi bath, means that it is a pleasure to return to after a day out or to chill for a lazy day or when the weather is too bad. The owners give a warm welcome and are attentive without being intrusive. We could happily stay here, and would definitely recommend to families or couples.
Thanks for your amazing review, so glad that you enjoyed the cottage so much and I am sure that potential visitors will appreciate your review too! Hope to see you again one day....
