The West Country / Devon region
The South West Coast Path is Britain's longest netional trail stretching over 600 miles. The North devon and Exmoor section is ninety miles long and boasts some of the most spectacular scenery of all- an area of "Outstanding Natural Beauty" Barnstaple,Europe's prettiest floral town and repeated winner of the Britain in Bloom award is just a short drive away. Here are the traditional Pannier and Craft markets. The climate is milder in the west country. Places of interest include Barnstaple Town, Bideford Coast and country,Ilfracombe and Combe Martin, Tarka Country and Hartland Coast.
Croyde / Braunton area
Croyde is a charming old worldly village with interesting shops, excellent restaurants, the local post office and Brooke's Stores. Go to the bottom of Pathfields and turn left to the village five minutes wals or turn right and a five minute walk takes you to the magnificent Croyde Bay Beach- a large expanse of golden fine sand, dunes and possible the best surfing stretch in Britain with panoramic views across the coastline and craggy hillsides. This follows on to the National Trust walking trail with wonderful views all roung and out to the sea and Lundy Island. There is a ferry boat from Ilfracombe to Lundy from April though September - also deep sea fishing boating trips. Cascades Tropical Adventure Pool is five minute walk near the beach suitable for all ages.Braunton Burrows is a two thousand acre dune system- dramatic scenery with shifting sands - 3 kilometers away. Braunton Museum is 8 k. away and has a good shopping centre and is home to two of the best fish and chips restaurants anywhere. There are surfing schools in Croyde Woolacombe and Putsborough.Skydiving at Dunkeswell,Nr. Honiton,Bird watching at Baggy Point, Braunton Marsh, horse riding at Croyde Riding Stables. There are two excellent golf courses at Saunton -just 3 k. away-also another course at Hele,Ilfracombe.
How to get there
M5 to junction 27 and A361 to Braunton and then turn left at traffic light on B3231 sign-posted to Croyde (47 miles) Plymouth is nearest port -about 110 kilom. from Croyde. Exeter is nearest airport-about 80 kilom. from Croyde. Train station is at Barnstaple -16 kilom. from Croyde. Regular bus service from Barnstaple to Croyde. Coach service from Victoria Station, London every day to Barnstaple and sometimes Braunton .Braunton is 8 kilom from Croyde. There is a ferry to Lundy Island at Ilfracombe ( 16 kilom)

There is a door between en-suite room and the other two bedrooms for additional privacy if required. There is a pay- telephone in hallway. Serving hatch between kitchen and dining area. Large sliding door in rear conservatory opening out to rear garden. Very private property- pleasant views from front and rear. Rear garden has secluded gardens with lawn, clothes line, new shed with garden furniture and picnic table. Electric wall heaters and storage heaters throughout. Home touches such as several original paintings, earth tone paint scheme -new bathroom fitted and very recent new kitchen fitted.
Further details outdoors: Ample parking for two cars in the driveway. Gated front entrance to driveway. There is a tennis court one minute walk away. Newspaper delivery can be arranged. Tesco at Barnstaple can deliver groceries (two week notice required to Tesco). Garden furniture in rear garden. Storage shed at rear also. Cleaner/caretaker -Sarah is five minutes away in Croyde village. Pathfields is a privately owned road and is a cul-de-sac and very quiet. The beach is a five to seven minute walk away. Exterior lighting at front side and rear The village of Croyde is just a few minutes walk away -it has quaint shops, excellent restaurants village post office and stores. Conditions
A deposit of one third of rental amount payable at time of booking, The balance of the rental amount plus a security amount of 50 pounds is payable six weeks (or prior to the sixweeks) prior to arrival date. The security amount of 50 pounds is refunded within 10 days after departure on no damage. In the event of cancellation within the six weeks prior to arrival date every effort will be made to re-let but if not relet the rental fee cannot be refunded. Please check for cover -cancellation of holiday with your insurance company.

The owner's weekend rates apply to: Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights
