The Devon region

This cottage is located in the English Devon County. Devon county was voted the most beautiful county in England by the Country Life Magazine and I must admit I agree : 0)

See: http: //www. beautifulbritain. co. uk/htm/outandabout/prettiest_counties. htm

North Devon is wonderful for holidays. There are so many places to visit - beaches, villages, market towns, craft centres, places of natural beauty, walks and a tourist attraction to suit everyone - gardens, museums, houses, theme parks, potteries, collections, a railway, zoo, honey farm, cider making, glass blowing and even a gnome reserve!

Other attractions close by include: Cycling and walking on the Tarka Trail; Fly fishing, coarse fishing and sea angling; Riding stables, with horse riding excursions; Clovelly a picturesque fishing village; Killarney Springs; The Big Sheep and Milky Way Theme Parks; Boat trips.

Croyde

Walk to the beach through the picturesque small village of Croyde, into the lane that takes you through the sand dunes onto the centre of the beach. A 10 minute walk.

One of the best restaurants in the area is located over the stream and across the road from the cottage and there are also other restaurants, pubs and shops just a few houses away.

Other local sandy beaches including Saunton, Putsborough and Woolacombe are all within easy reach, also known worldwide on the surfing scene. For breathtaking sea views take the many beautiful coastal walks around the Points at Croyde or visit Polly's tea rooms set on the cliff above Croyde beach or the Saunton Sands overhead restaurant, both providing alfresco eating and drinking while observing the stunning beach and surf. Saunton's 18 hole championship golf course is a short drive away and the regional centre of Barnstaple is seven miles away, offering a theatre, cinema and high street shops.

"STUNNING Cottage! Perfect break from London! Thank You!"

On approaching this beautiful cottage, we found ourselves walking down this really quaint back path to the cottage, which looks so sweet from outside. We were even more delighted when we went into the… More

Thank you so much for your lovely review!!

Please note that all reviews for "holidays" from Mid-July 2014 onward have been great (e.g. 5*).

All cottage updates and refurbishing were finished completely by Mid-July 2014.

The two reviews with with less than 4* were for "holidays" prior to Mid-July 2014.

Thanks so much

"Bit of a disappointment."

The property its self isn't bad at all, perfect size for a couple to spend a week without being cramped up or confined, nice & close to everything you could need & the local pub has a great selec… More

If this holiday maker had called the caretaker with any problems then they could have been sorted immediately. The bed was sorted within 2 hours as soon as it was realised, after all the great improvements to the cottage that the support had been forgotten and also the TV is working perfectly!! The bed was actually broken following this holiday maker's stay but it is now 100% OK again. I just had an email from my neighbour, who I know personally, and who has not caused any problems whatsoever with any of my holiday makers but she did mention this holiday maker. If anyone Holiday Lets a property and experiences ANY problems whatsoever then please call the numbers provided ASAP. There is a builder, electrician, carpenter and cleaner on hand and ready to sort ANY problems. Thanks so much. Julie Osborne

"No off road parking, damp in lounge, outside space is not directly by cottage"

We stayed for a few days in July. The weather was beautiful so we had a lovely time. There is no off road parking, and although it said there were 16 spaces these were frequently already taken. In ad… More

This review is quite unfair. The parking is not advertised at all. However, I lived there for 2 years and parked throughout this time with no problem whatsoever. There is absolutely no damp in the property - it is actually completely brand new inside this year (2014). All gardens for every cottage in that Croyde area (large or small) are a short walk from each property. However, Seashell's garden is a beautiful sunny courtyard garden, ideal for summer enjoyment.
