Crydda Cottage is a beautiful detached stone cottage, tucked away in a private sunny courtyard, located in the heart of the village a few minutes walk from the pubs, restaurants and shops. There is a short walk to the beautiful sandy beach and National Trust headland of Baggy Point, Saunton Sands (4 miles long!) and Putsborough/Woolacombe beaches (blue flag!) are a couple of minutes by car. Croyde has a very family friendly beach with cafe, shop and showers etc, there is also a surf school, and a riding school . The area is renowned for its walking and there are several excellent golf courses nearby including the famous Saunton Sands Club. Other attractions include boat/fishing hire and ferrys to Lundy from Ilfracombe, several adventure/theme parks nearby, Watermouth Castle, Arlington Court and clay pigeon shooting close by - list too long to mention .........
The cottage is full of character with lots of original features and has been very well equipped and totally refurbished throughout in a style which complements the property. There are very comfortable living areas with a contemporary feel, 4 very cosy bedrooms, a well appointed main bathroom with spa, 2 further bathrooms, lovely country kitchen and spacious dining room with bed sette and TV. Outside there is a lower terrace with shower and hanging rack for wet suits and providing a safe storage area for surf boards . The upper terraced garden is enchanting, it is very private and totally enclosed with a sun trap decking area, there is a BBQ and 2 tables and chairs for 10, and some sun loungers. There is also a play area for small children and a summer house in the garden. It is a really great place to chill out after your day on the beach!!

The West Country / Devon region
North Devon is fast becomming one of the countrys' top destinations for holidays at any time of year. There is very good access to the area with a new dual carriageway joining the M5 from Junction27. The area is renowned as having some of the most beautiful scenery in the UK, with Exmoor and Dartmoor National Parks to explore, some of the finest golden sandy beaches many with blue flags. There are superb walks, expecially along the coastline - much of which is owned by the National Trust. There are castles and grand houses to visit, there are country towns and pastel coloured fishing villages to discover. There is plenty to do at any time of year. And dont forget of course the obligitary devon cream teas or freshly made pasties.
Croyde area
Croyde Bay is a beautiful sheltered beach with the headlands of Baggy point and Saunton Downs at each end. The beach is flat with golden sand, there are some rock pools and of course the fantastic surf. Next to the beach are a cafe and shop, toilets and showers, car parking, a surf school and a horse riding shcool.
The village of Croyde is lovely with lots of thatched cottages and older houses. There is Crydda stream which flows through the village, near to the cottage, and out to sea. There are three good pubs, a couple of retaurants and various shops.
There are plenty of places to visit and things to do whatever the weather - the cottage has an information book providing further details regarding activities on offer.
How to get there
By car M5 from Junction 27 take A361 to Barnstaple stay on A361 to Braunton, then B3231 through Saunton to Croyde Bay. By Train to Tiverton Parkway - further train services to Barnstaple
