About the home

Bell Cottage is a beautiful 17th century cottage containing 5 bedrooms, a large lounge and well-equipped farm style kitchen/dining room & utility. This accommodation is an excellent size with 3 bedrooms and bathroom in the main house and two bedrooms and shower room in a separate annex, perfect for two families or any groups.

The house exudes character, blending the beautiful 17th century features with a shabby chic interior. It boasts of exposed beams, original cottage doors and a large, stone fireplace to warm yourselves by on the colder evenings.

The outside area is equally lovely, with its stone courtyard and parking for a maximum of 4 cars, and large hide and seek garden with dining space and BBQ. There is also a small courtyard to the rear of the property with a side exit which is safe for very small children.

The property has WIFI internet and extender which gives internet availability to the whole house.

Bell Cottage is a perfect place for families or groups to stay in Georgeham in or out of the summer season, whether you are looking for an activity holiday or just to relax. It is situated only minutes walk from two award winning pubs, a village shop and a park. Famous beaches Croyde & Putsborough are only 5 minutes drive, Woolacombe & Braunton Town only 10 mins drive. This is a great central property to relax and explore North Devon.

The West Country / Devon region

The North Devon Coast boasts spectacular scenery and beautiful beaches whatever the season.The beaches are recognised as possibly some of the finest and cleanest in Europe - with two miles of soft golden sand, plenty of rock pools and amazing surf. The area of Saunton, Croyde, Georgeham and Woolacombe are in the heart of the Gold Coast and the best beaches in North Devon. It is an area of outstanding natural beauty.

There are a number of local golf courses, the closest being Willingcott just 2 miles away near Woolacombe or Saunton Golf Club located at Saunton Sands which is just the other side of Croyde. Other activities available in the area include kite surfing, coasteering, running, cycling including the Tarka Trail cycle path, wake boarding, fishing, horseriding and volleyball.

There are plenty of activities for children apart from the beach. There are good local parks, indoor play centres, museums, swimming pools and a Wildlife and Dinosaur park in nearby Combe Martin. There are also lots of interesting places to go for day trips including Lundy Island. Lynton and Lynmouth, Instow, Clovelly and Appledore are pretty Devon seaside villages and Barnstaple offers good shopping. Georgeham is also an excellent base from which to explore Exmoor.

There are fishing trips available from Ilfracombe Harbour, Combe Martin, Appledore and Lynmouth. and at Instow.

The Croyde / Georgeham area

The beaches at Putsborough, Croyde, Woolacombe and Saunton Sands are all very popular surfing beaches, they also offer fantastic expanses of sands and rock pools at low tides so are suitable for all beach games or simply lounging on a hot day. All the beaches have beach car parks if you don’t want to walk and also very good cafes.

Bell Cottage is situated in the center of the picturesque village of Georgeham which has a village shop, Post office as well as two excellent food pubs. With Croyde, Woolacombe and Braunton all close at hand, there a range of excellent options for eating out.

From Junction 27 of the M5 take the A361 to Barnstaple and then continue on this road to Braunton. At the traffic lights in Braunton take a left on the B3231 to Croyde and then on to Georgeham. Follow the road through Georgeham, you will pass the shop and pub (the kings arms) located on the left. Next you will see the church on the left and Rock Hill Road on the right. Bell Cottage is situated three houses down on the right past Rock Hill Road. If you get lost please ask at The Rock Inn Pub(on Rock Hill) since they know us and will direct you.
