Braunton is a gateway and perfect base to access some of the best surfing beaches and countryside in the West Country.
Other popular South Devon locations include the naval port of Dartmouth and popular family holiday bay of Salcombe.
Braunton has everything you could need including takeaways, good restaurants, selection of pubs, good quality independent shops and friendly people. Mary Cottage is in the historic part of Braunton.
The renowned Tarka trail goes through the village. This follows the Taw and Torridge estuaries and is perfect for both easy walks and long bike rides. Close by is the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve of Braunton Burrows, the largest sand dune system in the UK.
