A true gem. Beautiful house which lived up to and surpassed my expectations. The house had everything we wanted and more. The attention to detail is second to none. Such a high quality furnished home. We felt very much at home, a real comfortable modern high spec home. The children particularly loved the bedroom with 3 bunk beds, just perfect. The house has an array of toys and board games and as our children are young they made full use of the toys, which was great. No need to pack those extra toys as the house has it all. My son who is nearly 6 loved the table tennis table as did the adults. We had so much to do in and around the area and after a long day out the highlight was coming back and take a dip in the hot tub. The kids thoroughly enjoyed this too. The garden is landscaped beautifully and has the hidden gem of a wendy house at the top of the garden. The setting of the garden, stepped in the hills, gave view to stunning scenery and surroundings. The garden makes you gasp as its so amazing. The weather was a little unkind to us the latter part of the holiday and the heavens opened which stopped us using the fantastic BBQ and the log fire. I can imagine on a summers evening sitting in the garden with the fire going and the BBQ, just bliss. Even on the days when the weather wasn't great, the house has so much to offer for you. The owners recommended places to visit and gave perfect instructions on how to use all equipment, very thorough and concise. I must say we checked out two of the beaches recommended and they were amazing. Saunton Sands and Puttsborough Beach. The house is in a great location and truly has everything you could ever want. This was our first time in North Devon and so much so we have already booked to come back next year and have already booked BARNS COTTAGE. I would not book anywhere else. Response: Thank you so much for your wonderfully complimentary review of Barns Cottage! It really means alot to us when our guests appreciate our home as much as we do. We are delighted that you all enjoyed the hot tub and table tennis table and that the children loved the bunk beds and the wendy house in the garden. It sounds like you made the most of the wonderful local beaches too. We are really excited to welcome you back again next year and will be happy to suggest some other fantastic local places to explore! |

What a fantastic holiday and in a fabulous cottage. The attention to detail was pure luxury, the beds are amazing with beautiful linen. The bathrooms are.great with rainforest showers and the free standing bath in the master bedroom was a must ! The outside area was so well thought out and the children had a great Easter egg hunt on Easter day,so many hiding places. We all enjoyed the hot tub and the table tennis was put to good use. The cottage is a prime location, only minutes away from Braunton centre, we went to the famous Squires fish n chip resturant, which was lovely, and 'At One' resturant for Tapas which was fantastic. We walked the south west coastal path through several villages in the area, and had fab weather. We would definitely go again, Thankyou Barbara. Response: I am thrilled that you enjoyed your stay at Barns Cottage and thank you for your wonderful comments about the house and garden. So glad that you had great weather and got to experience some of the wonderful coastal walks that the area has to offer, and enjoy some of the superb local cuisine! We would love to welcome you to our house again one day! |
