OLD CHAPEL is one of those real gems that cannot be missed when considering your holiday. Lovingly converted from an original Chapel, it has a wealth of original features and tremendous charm. This includes the magnificent conversion of the pulpit into a quality wooden staircase, original and new stain glass feature windows, double volume beamed ceilings and even some of the original pews. The owner of this home has taken great care to collect sympathetic articles to enhance the character and warmth of this home.

LIVING AREAS
As you enter the OLD CHAPEL through the large original double church doors, you are immediately greeted by the cavernous space and height of this property.
Down the passage you enter the enormous double lounge on two levels, where there is seating easily catering for large groups, and a sofa bed. Light enters the room from both sides, transmitted through spectacular stain glass panes. Wood panelling, fascinating artifacts and feature walls complete the space.
The lounge has a games area, which contains a scaled down snooker/pool table for your enjoyment. Beyond the games area you enter a further living area, originally used by the Sunday school, and swathed in light. This double volume space contains the large wooden dining area, easily seating 8 as well as further living space and seating. To warm yourself, over a glass of red wine and a good book, is the electric feature fireplace.

KITCHEN
From the second lounge/dining area enter the kitchen, with modern appliances and real wood surfaces, with electric 4-plate hob, fitted oven, microwave, fitted fridge, integrated dish washer, tumble drier and separate freezer.

BEDROOMS
Near the entrance you will encounter the first bedroom, with feature stain glass panes, ample storage and twin beds (can be converted into a double) - all lovingly decorated.
From the first lounge climb a large winding staircase, supported by the original pulpit, with commanding views over the lounge. On the upper level is the master bedroom with large double bed and en-suite shower room containing electric power shower, WC and basin. The room is lit by tasteful velux windows which do not detract from the character of the home.

BATHROOMS
Leading from the entrance hall there is a large family bathroom, which contains a WC, bath and basin. The bathroom lets in lots of light and is tastefully decorated in wood and neutral colours.
Off the kitchen, is a small utility room and another WC closet with basin. Leading off the upstairs master bedroom is an en-suite shower room containing electric power shower, WC and basin.

Outdoors and to the rear of the home, there is a wonderful enclosed, raised walled garden. Furniture for dining a BBQ are provided.

The West Country / Devon region

Destinations for holidays at any time of year. There is very good access to the area with a new dual carriageway joining the M5 from Junction27. The area is renowned as having some of the most beautiful scenery in the UK, with Exmoor and Dartmoor National Parks to explore, some of the finest golden sandy beaches many with blue flags. An ideal place to bring families down on holidays - safe and picturesque with so many activities available. There are superb walks, especially along the coastline - much of which is owned by the National Trust. There are castles and grand houses to visit, there are country towns and pastel coloured fishing villages to discover. There is plenty to do at any time of year. And don't forget of course the obligatory Devon cream teas or freshly made pasties.

The Croyde / Braunton area

Knowle is a charming rural town with a great vibe and local pub, great country views and quiet relaxed atmosphere. The village has the renowned Ebrington Arms pub, often with fantastic live music. Knowle is on the border of Braunton, known as the largest village in England and is a very short drive from the famous Saunton Beach and prominent links Saunton Golf Course.

The area is perfect for the family holiday with the three beaches of Saunton, Woolacombe and Croyde close by as well as Ilfracombe harbour, famous for its fish and chips shops and ice creams. The Combe Martin Wildliffe and Dinosaur Park is also a very short drive away.

“Huge, fun building to stay in” We had an absolute ball staying in this huge, beautiful chapel. With two different wings and a mezzanine balcony, it was easy to play lord of the manor; when we weren't playing pool, bagatelle... more

“A wonderful, unique place to stay” We just loved it. A largeish Chapel which has real character, it would have been big enough for a family of five but we didn't feel as if we were rattling. It was in a lovely quiet village which was bag dark at night, 3 doors up from the local pub. It was getting autumnal when we arrived so we didn't make use of the garden, but had we been earlier in the season we would have done so. A one mile walk into Braunton offered everything we needed and we visited many wonderful places using the car while we were there. We intend to return and have already recommended it to several friends.
