BRAUNTON SCORE FARMHOUSE OVERVIEW
SCORE FARMHOUSE is a period building, having been lovingly restored by the owner, immediately greets you with a sense of warmth as you enter. If you are one who wants to cuddle around the hearth, while sinking into rich plush sofas, made all the more intimate by low ceilings, exposed beams and original farmhouse features, then look no further. The farmhouse sleeps up to 12 people. With 6 bedrooms, 2 kitchens and 2 lounges. SCORE FARMHOUSE is ideal for a large group or multi-family occupancy. In addition, one of the large bedrooms is conveniently situated on the ground floor. SCORE FARMHOUSE is situated in the heart of Braunton, just a short walk to the pubs, restaurants and shops in the village centre, peace and tranquillity abound. There is ample off road parking for more than four cars. When you are in the garden you can hear the stream flowing under the old stone bridge, occasionally you may hear the ducks too. Just outside the village are the Burrows, where one can walk for hours through majestic dunes. A little further is the blue flag beaches of Saunton and Croyde; the latter is world-renowned for its surf.
Both entrances to the property have a large utility area with w/c. The charming main entrance vestibule has a row of useful coat hooks and plenty of room to store your outdoor gear. This leads through to the formal entrance hall, with wooden writing desk where the Wi-Fi router is located. Adjacent to the hall there is one of the downstairs WC's, plus a washing machine and tumble drier hidden away under a work surface. The ground floor lounge, with stone fireplace and slate mantle is one of two social areas (the second being on the first floor). The sumptuous furnishings just invite you to slump down, relax and take advantage of the sky sport and movies package on the flat screen TV. The second first-floor lounge overlooks the garden and has two comfortable sofas and a large wooden coffee table. There is a DVD player and Playstation 2 along with a good selection of films, games and books along with a chess/backgammon set.
Both well equipped kitchens are situated on the ground floor and have adjacent/open plan dining areas, so preparing the feast do not mean exclusion from social interaction for the hard working cook. Each kitchen boasts all the essentials such as oven, hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and microwave oven. Cool bags have also been thoughtfully supplied, perfect for keeping those beach refreshments ice cold. The second entrance to the property also has a large utility area containing a washing machine, tumble drier and separate WC. This area leads through into the light and airy second kitchen, the space in this kitchen has been enhanced by the use of cream coloured shaker style units, open plan dining area with a large picture window overlooking the lush green lawn.
From the dining area there is a second door leading to the garden, and, just next to this door we find Bedroom 1, a large ground floor twin bedded room with its eye-catching feature fireplace.
Climbing one of the two staircases to the first floor you enjoy a feeling of space, this is helped by the light coming through the two large windows overlooking the stream and stone bridge. This leads you to the balance of the bedrooms:-
Bedroom 2 has two single beds and a useful wash basin along with a large built-in cupboard.
Bedroom 3 boasts a large double bed, a good size pine wardrobe and views over the garden to the swimming pool beyond.
Bedroom 4 is an airy bright room with bunk beds, light maple furniture helping to create a feeling of space.
Bedroom 5, found through a stripped pine door has a double bed and overlooks the garden and river.
The double aspect attic room is Bedroom 6, this room boasts a large double bed, couple this with the en suite bathroom with power shower, hand basin and WC, and you really do have a very private bedroom suite.
One of the family bathrooms is located from the landing and has a bath and separate power shower, wash basin and WC. The Second Bathroom with a blue colour scheme exudes a nautical feel, and has a bath with power shower-over, hand basin and WC and then the en-suite bathroom off bedroom 6 with power shower, hand basin and WC. Separate WC's with basins can be found in the hallway at each entrance.
There is a stable door leading out to the walled garden with a flat lawned area and enclosed heated swimming pool which is 4m x 8m and 5.5' at the deep end and 2.5' at the short end. There is also a slightly raised decked area that is cuddled by the original rustic stone wall, where you will also find the barbecue.
