The West Wales/Pembrokeshire region
This is an area of mountains, sea and national park and somewhere that has been attracting holidaymakers for many years. Pembrokeshire Coast national Park in the south west is a favourite holiday destination, with miles of coastal footpaths and wonderful seascapes; lots of Blue Flag beaches and seas rich in marine life. Further east Carmarthenshire also has lots to attract holidaymakers, with historic castles, mountains, rivers and of course coastline. No matter where you choose your never too far away from mountains and the sea and of course there is the thriving cities of Cardiff and Swansea to visit, where you'll find lots of first class shops, cafes and restaurants.
The property is conveniently situated for sight-seeing across the beautiful region of Pembrokeshire, which was recently voted the ‘second best coastal destination in the entire world' by the highly respected National Geographic Magazine. The region undoubtedly has the visitor infrastructure to match this astonishing accolade so visitors are advised to plan their time wisely in order to see as many of the tourist hotpots as possible during their stay. Local attractions include the award-winning Castell Henllys, which comprises a full size Iron Age Hill Fort built as per the structure and layout revealed following an archaeological dig at the site, and the incredibly uplifting Bro Meigan Gardens. The latter was the only public garden in Wales to feature in the Independent on Sunday's guide to the secret treasures of Britain and is well worth a visit. Walkers will be in their element strolling through the sublime scenery of the Preseli Hills reputed to be the source of the stones used to build Stonehenge. Highly recommended for a day trip is the picturesque town of Cardigan. An easy five miles away, the town offers a most interesting townscape to explore and is a vibrant cultural and events centre for the wider region.
