The County Cork region
Cork is the largest county in Ireland and boasts one of the world's greatest natural sheltered harbours. The county's coastline varies from the wild rugged beauty of the West to the smooth long sandy beaches of the East. Away from the coast there are gentle rolling hills, rivers and lakes. Follow the beauty of the valley of the River Lee to its source in Gougane Barra where St.Finbarre built his monastery in the sixth century.
Situated in a sheltered bay that is warmed by the Gulf Stream, the village of Myrtleville is located 21km south of Cork City. In spite of its proximity to the city it has remained unspoilt and has charmed holidaymakers for over a century. The nearby town of Crosshaven is home to the oldest yacht club in the world, the ''Royal Yacht Club''which hosts the international regatta ''Ford Week''every two years. Crosshaven has facilities for yachting, fishing, boat hire, tennis and pitch-and-putt as well as a wide choice of bars and restaurants
Myrtleville has a small newsagent/grocery store,a restaurant/bar and a local pub/music venue. The nearest ATM is in ''Centra Supermarket'', Crosshaven; this is usually open between 8am and 10pm. The nearest petrol station is in Carrigaline (8km), where there are also 4 banks and 3 large supermarkets. There is a regular bus service to within 1km of Myrtleville. Let the magic of this scenic area work on you, and become one of the many people who always return.

"Excellent cottage look no further !"
I can't say enough about this well equipped cottage, The interior was very appealing with a lovely sunny diningroom with a great view to the sea. Margaret is the perfect host having left plenty of fuel for the cast iron flame fire and other essentials on arrival. The garden is well appointed and the beach nearby , lovely for walks or just relaxing with a book in the cottage.

We were thrilled with our stay at the Seaview Cottage. The place was clean & updated with all of the amenities. We very much enjoyed cooking in our kitchen & eating in our little dining nook with a view of the sea. The cottage sits on a quiet street and is just a two minute walk away from the beach. We loved our nighttime stroll to the shore to enjoy the stars. We would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a place to stay with the freedom to cook on your own and meet the friendly neighbors!
