Home description
Ingleborough cottage dates back to the early 19th century when it was the bakery and dairy to the Manor farm. Converted to a dwelling in the 1950's it is constructed in the traditional Norfolk style of flint and red brick with high ceilings and light airy rooms.
With two double bedrooms and two bathrooms it offers an ideal holiday home for one of two couples. It is furnished and equipped as a home with everything provided except your personal towels.
The caretaker lives a few hundred yards away and will greet you on arrival and ensure that the cottage is clean and your beds are already made up. Both the front and rear gardens are a sun trap and provide opportunities for alfresco dining weather permitting.
There are shops in the village and the larger towns of Cromer and Sheringham are a short drive away providing good clean, safe beaches, major shops cinema and theatre facilities. For bird watchers Cley marshes are about 7 miles and the area has a number of historic houses open to the public.

The East Anglia / Norfolk region
Norfolk enjoys the lowest rainfall of anywhere in England. The North Norfolk coast between Cromer and Sheringham has undulating, pine covered hills leading to high cliffs falling away to wide stretches of sandy beach washed twice daily by the tide. Cromer. East and West Runton and Sheringham are all within a 5mile stretch of coast famous for its plentiful catches of crab and lobster. Taken together they combine their inshore fishing industry with a busy tourist trade.
There is a Victorian pier in Cromer with a popular theatre at its end and a multiplex cinema up in the town. Sheringham also has a small theatre and a whole range of family owned shops. But best of all are the friendly people; the bracing atmosphere; good walks, clean beaches and great local produce. A step back in time to a more leisured way of life.
Cromer / East Runton area
East Runton still has a number of fishermen earning their living from the sea. The beach is undeveloped and clean providing a place to sit, swim and surf and an easy mile or so walk to Cromer at low tide. There is a general store, a ladies hairdresser a newsagent / tea room, a butcher, a fish and chip shop, two pubs and a well known Greek restaurant. The upper and lower commons each have village ponds populated with ducks and a significant flock of geese. Not quite a Victorian rural idyll but pretty close.
How to get there
Preferably drive, parking available on property. Possible to travel by train to Cromer and then short taxi ride. Shops in the village.
