Gunton railway station is just 5 minutes walk which gives access to the popular Bittern Line. This line links Norwich to a number of towns and villages including Wroxham, North Walsham , Cromer and finishes in Sheringham. Southrepps is a lovely rustic village set three miles inland from the sea. The village has a shop, a tea room and the Vernon Arms. The newly opened Gunton Arms is just two miles away and serves excellent food, It was named pub of the year by Michelin in their “2013 Eating Out in Pubs Guide”.
The East Anglia region
Mundesley - Our preferred local venue for a day out at the beach
Cromer - A traditional seaside town with a pier, a great beach, a zoo, museums and good general facilities.
Sheringham - Popular traditional seaside town with a good beach, shops and the North Norfolk Railway .
Holt - A lovely rural Georgian Norfolk town with plenty of unusual shops and Byfords an excellent cafe/deli
Aylsham - A historic market town and the home of the Bure Valley Railway .
Blakeney - A very pretty town and harbour with boat trips to see the colony of Common and Grey seals (wrap up warm though particularly in the winter).
Wells next the Sea - A town with a harbour which is popular for crabbing and a very long sweeping beach bordered by pretty beach huts and pine woodland.
Holkham - Fantastic beach, the Victoria Hotel and Restaurant and Holkham Hall.
Burnham Market - has become well known for it's up market shops and restaurants . The Hoste Arms is highly recommended.
The Broads - This unique patchwork of rivers and lakes form a network of over 125 miles of navigable waterways providing leisure interests for many.
Both Cromer and Sheringham have excellent summer carnival events starting at the end of July running through to the middle of August, check their websites for details of their programmes.
The city of Norwich is easily accessible by rail or car. Great for shopping and of course to watch the Canaries (Norwich FC) who are in the Premiership again for the 2012/13 season.
