Outside and garden
There is plenty of secure parking in the outer courtyard with an acre of garden beyond.
We welcome you to take a stroll round the garden, or stack yard as it was, with our magnificent mature English oak in the middle formerly to shade the cattle and a pond to water them.
You are welcome to enjoy a picnic or barbeque in the gardens.
There are paths to explore around the pond which has ducks and moorhens, protected black water shrews, voles, and shoals of tench if clear. The managed long grass areas host marsh orchids in summer and the margins sport wild mushrooms Blewit and The Prince in autumn. From early evening a barn owl occasionally hunts here, later accompanied by bats.
We also welcome you to come to the more formal end of the garden with lawn, rose tunnel coming on, lavender and flower beds.
