The Powys/Brecon Beacons region

The Brecon Beacons National Park is a perfect location for walking, cycling and outdoor pursuits. The scenery is breathtaking of course with glorious mountains, woodlands, rivers and canals. Thriving towns and pretty villages providing local services are dotted around the stunning landscape. The piece and tranquility of the National Park is however only half an hour from the national motorway network. Local attractions include the Hay Festival, Brecon Jazz, Green Man and Abergavenny Food Festival.

Crickhowell is a thriving little market town with largely independent shops, great pubs and superb restaurants. It sits on the banks of the River Usk in the Black Mountains on the eastern edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Abergavenny Railway Station is 6 miles away where there are direct trains to and from Cardiff and Manchester. London is two and a half hours away by train.
