Key Info

Red Hart Self-Catering Cottage dates from the 16th century and includes a wealth of period features such as oak beams and a stone, spiral staircase. Nestling in the peaceful village of Llanbedr, and enjoying breathtaking views, the Cottage is situated in the heart of the Black Mountains in the Brecon Beacons National Park. The Cottage provides the perfect base for exploring the area with many walks and cycle trails accessible straight from the door, so leave your car in the driveway and forget about driving! The Brecon Beacons Mountains are a scenic 25 minute drive away. The Cottage comprises a Master bedroom with ensuite and stone spiral steps leading down to a further double bedroom. This, in turn, leads through to the living/dining room with digital tv and dvd player and kitchen area. There is also a downstairs cloakroom, a conservatory and decking area with stunning views over the Sugarloaf Mountain, and off road parking on the driveway. The Cottage kitchen is equipped with cooker, microwave, toaster and fridge with freezer compartment. A washing machine, tumble drier, iron, ironing board, freezer and land line are available in the owners' house next door. There are numerous things to do in the area, ranging from walking, cycling, horse riding, caving, fishing and canoeing to visiting ancient castles, former coal mines, the world famous book town of Hay one Wye via the beautiful Gospel Pass and Hay Bluff, Llanthony Abbey, Brecon and Abergavenny. Wales' capital city, Cardiff, with its Millenium Stadium, Mermaid Quay and St Davids Centre for shopping, is just an hour's drive away (or 40 minutes by train from Abergavenny) and well worth a visit, and a day trip to the coast and some of Wales' wonderful beaches is something not to be missed. Red Hart Cottage is suitable for adults and children aged 15 or over. We regret that we are unable to accommodate pets, due to our resident chickens, guinea pigs and rabbit! Llanbedr Village has a pub and church and the Dragons Head pub in the nearby village of Llangenny can be relied upon for a warm welcome, excellent food and friendly service. All local amenities and many fine restaurants and cafes can be found in the picturesque market town of Crickhowell, a 5 minute drive away.
