A picturesque 300 year old cottage set in its own pretty garden overlooking the River Usk and mountains. The cottage has many original features, stone flag floor, old fashioned range with open fire and beams. Upstairs is a double bedroom and a second bedroom has twin beds. A well equipped kitchen has cooker, microwave, kettle, toaster fridge and washing machine. There is a freezer in the outside garden shed which also provides secure lock up for your bikes. 20 yards from the garden gate you will find the Brecon and Monmouth Canal providing traffic free access to the Taff Trail cycle network, Tor y Foel mountain and the Brecon Beacons beyond. A two minute stroll will take you to the village local. A great base to explore on foot,boat or bike. In the fridge you will find our home cure bacon and a loaf of bread for bacon butties, produced on our farm 2 miles away.

The Powys/Brecon Beacons region

The Brecon Beacons National Park is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts. Hill walking, cycling, caving, paragliding, fishing, canoeing, golfing, sailing all within easy reach. A visit to Big Pit in Bleanavon is a must, with the chance to put on a miners helmet and descend into a real coal mine.


Within the backdrop of the Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains there is plenty to see and do. Brecon Jazz Festival, Abergavenny Food Festival and Hay Festival all within an easy drive. Lots of cosy pubs, quaint cafes, farmers markets and local village shows. A haven for wildlife. Hire a boat on Llangorse Lake. Relax and take in the scenery, or go out and explore, the choice is yours.
