Houseboat | 1 bedrooms | sleeps 2

'Glamping' at its most luxurious, this is a wonderful opportunity to stay on our family's lovely, old, traditional 60' canal boat which is kept permanently moored and static at a small farm in the middle of the Brecon Beacons. Just 20 minutes walk along the towpath and through fields brings you to the very popular visitor destination of Crickhowell with its numerous pubs and restaurants.

With only ducks and boats at the windows and the chickens in the surrounding fields, this is an especially cosy and snug retreat for those looking for a peaceful and tranquil location with outstanding views of Table Top and Sugar Loaf Mountains from the site.

Entrance is through the 'cratch' which is a canvas-covered area where you can hang coats and boots and this leads down a small step into the sitting room with its log burning stove which, after a morning stoke, burns slowly throughout the day, to keep the boat warm and snug, even when the boat doors are open.

The 'galley', or 'kitchen', for non boat users, has everything you need for cooking hot breakfasts and suppers, including hob, grill, oven, fridge freezer and hot and cold running water.

At the stern of the boat is a lovely double bedroom with a king sized bed and two good sized wardrobes. And, on returning back towards the kitchen is the bathroom which has a basin and porta potti, which, if used, will need emptying. There are also modern family-sized showers and loos just 25 yards away.

At the start of your holiday, after welcoming you on board and showing you around, we will ensure that you have a full water tank and sufficient gas and electricity to last for around a week.

This is an ideal base for anyone looking to enjoy the Brecon Beacons area with its wonderful opportunities for walking, cycling, fishing, canoeing, boating and riding, whilst providing easy access to the bustling and pretty town of Crickhowell. With six pubs to choose from, you can cosy up to the log fire in the famous Bear Hotel or enjoy a glass of wine or beer at the Bridgend Pub on the banks of the River Usk, before strolling home.
