This cosy stone cottage was built in 1867 in the grounds of a country house and is a perfect base for walking, mountain biking or just relaxing in the beautiful private garden. The cottage nestles in the picturesque Usk Valley with wonderful views of Sugar Loaf, Table Top and Blorenge Mountains. Downstairs has a tiled floor and is open plan with a well equipped kitchen, lounge and dining area, as well as a shower room with a separate toilet. Upstairs there are two quaint bedrooms with low beamed ceilings. All the rooms in the cottage are bright and cheerful and the entrance has a stable door which means you can prepare your meals whilst looking at the beautiful views that surround you.

The private garden is very large and enclosed which is ideal for families as well as holidaymakers who want to bring their pets with them. The garden area itself has tables, chairs, benches and loungers for those who want to take time out and relax.

There is also a paved patio area with a table, chairs and BBQ for relaxing in the daytime or evening and with no light pollution the night sky is a sight to behold.

The region is a nature lover's paradise. There are so many great walks, including Southern Britain's highest mountain (Pen y Fan) and so much beautiful scenery all within a short walk or drive away from the cottage.

Crickhowell

Chateau Cottage is situated in the Black Mountains and within the Brecon Beacons National Park. There is a lovely walk directly from the cottage alongside the River Usk into the beautiful Georgian Town of Crickhowell - which is approximately one mile away.

Crickhowell is famed locally for its variety of individual shops, as well as an art gallery, tourist information office, Post Office, Banks and tennis courts. Both the local butchers shops and greengrocers sell local produce. There are also cafes and restaurants in this quaint town.

Just over the bridge in Crickhowell is the small hamlet of Langattock which has a 9 hole golf course as well as the historic Brecon and Monmouthshire Canal where you can walk, fish and also hire boats for the day.

The market town of Abergavenny is approximately 5 miles away. Abergavenny has two golf courses, a local theatre and cinema and a good train service into Cardiff.
