About the home

Hebog Bach is a superb, fully renovated 18th Century, three bedroomed, single storey cottage situated on a leafy private country estate on the edge of Snowdonia.

The landscaped gardens, with outstanding sea views, are enclosed by traditionally built stone walls, making this a safe and tranquil place from which to enjoy the best that Wales can offer. Whether you are looking for a family holiday or a romantic retreat, Hebog Bach will not disappoint.

The seaside town of Criccieth, with its sandy beach and splendid castle, is a short drive away. Black Rock Beach, the Harbour at Porthmadog and Clough Williams-Ellis’ wonderful Italianate village of Portmeirion are close by, as are the legendary mountains and valleys of Snowdonia.

This charming cottage has been designed and furnished by the Williams-Ellis family, whose attention to detail and carefully chosen soft furnishings, wall hangings and textiles make this a delightful place to stay.

The large open plan living room, dining room and kitchen, with a 4 metre high wooden ceiling, have been thoughtfully laid out. The kitchen and dining area are well equipped with solid beech worktops, built in oven with separate hob, fridge freezer, dishwasher and dining table with seating for six. The living area, with limed oak flooring, has comfortable sofas, open fireplace, bookshelves crammed with books, 32" LCD T.V. with Free Skyview, wireless broadband, DVD Player and Stereo system with an iPod dock.

There is a separate utility room with washer and drier.

Bedroom One has two single beds that can be zipped together and has it’s own exit onto the pretty sun terrace. There is an en-suite shower room with walk in shower, loo, washbasin and heated towel rail. There is under floor heating beneath the stone tiles.

Bedroom Two has a king size bed, high vaulted ceilings and a window seat with a long window from which to enjoy the rural landscape.

Bedroom Three has twin beds, walk in wardrobes and lovely sea views. (check with PS)

The shared bathroom has a bath, hand held shower, loo and washbasin, heated towel rail and under floor heating. The large gardens have a barbecue and furniture from which to enjoy al-fresco eating whilst delighting in the spectacular views and sunsets of the Llyn Peninsula.

There is ample parking.

The lovely, large, landscaped and secluded garden has wonderful views across the Llyn peninsular. The house is surrounded by 1000 acres of private woodlands. There is a private trout stocked reservoir where fishing can be organised by prior arrangement. This is a dog walkers and bird watchers paradise.

A welcome pack of local, organic produce is included (with wine). Beds are made up for arrival and towels are provided (including beach towels in summer).

Conditions

A deposit for the amount of £150 secures the booking. The balance is payable six weeks prior to the stay.

The North Wales / Snowdonia/Gwynedd region

North Wales boasts a beautiful coastline, the magnificent Snowdonia which is excellent for climbing expeditions, and the Llyn Peninsula which provides plenty of sailing opportunities.

There are many things to do, from visiting North Wales' historic castles to walking along the coastal paths and seeing the various villages en route.

The Criccieth area

Hebog Bach is situated on the edge of Snowdonia.The lovely beach at Back Rock is only a couple of minutes drive away, as is the pretty seaside town of Criccieth with it's splendid castle. The owner and designer of Hebog Bach is the great nephew of Clough Williams-Ellis, whose Italianate village at Portmeirion is only a short drive away.

Just to let you know that we have had a wonderful time at Hebog Bach. The property is gorgeous and everything that we could have wanted. I never thought of work once! We all feel so relaxed. Viv was wonderful and most welcoming and the welcome bread and bacon were divine - she had even boiled us the kettle for a nice cup of tea. The property was pristine in every way. The sheep and lambs around the property made the children's day!

It was an amazing vacation!!.. and so much is thanks to the beautiful Cottage.
We expect it to be something great, as you said, but it was even greater- the surrounding (sheep), views (sea) and indoor (living room!)- Just perfect!.
We all had the best time and didn't want to leave.

We have loved everything. The furniture, the linen, the decor, the lighting and the excellent quality of fixtures and fittings. They have all been truly appreciated. We have had a wonderful holiday and are very sad to be going. Already looking at your availability for our next visit.

Jjust arrived back from our week at Hebog Bach and we felt the need to e-mail you. We had a fantastic week and we just had to let you know that the cottage was the best one we have ever stayed at and we have been booking cottages for the last 12 years! Every thing had been carefully thought about and the attention to
detail was superb. The kitchen was so well equipped, everything you could possibly need. We were quite sad to be coming home today, could quite easily have stayed on :-) but we will be back again in the future as we feel that we have found a little gem in 'Hebog Bach'!

What an utterly fantastic cottage. You might have to force us to leave!!!

We had a lovely time thanks! We found the cottage very comfortable, luxurious and romantic. The attention spent on every detail and the general quality of everything in the cottage made it feel very special (from the under floor heating to the artwork on the walls, from the books on the shelf to the kitchen utensils....everything really!!). And its a great location for getting away from everything and exploring Snowdonia/North Wales.

I just wanted to drop you a line to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay at Hebog Bach. The house is just perfect and certainly the most comfortable cottage that we have ever stayed in. Viv is a real asset and made us feel very welcome without ever being intrusive. We would love to book again and will be in touch. CC

We have just returned from a relaxing stay at your lovely cottage and am pleased to say we found everything to be just perfect. It was a home from home. Furnishings and equipment were all of a high standard and the flowers, wine and welcome food essentials were just right!
