Enquire nowThe North Wales / Snowdonia/Gwynedd region
Criccieth sits at the beginning of the Llyn Peninsula, the property faces south. It has a mild climate, but is only 10 km from Snowdonia, where the climate is typically that of a mountainous area. There are a number of castles worth visiting, Harlech , Criccieth, and Caernarfon, where Prince Charles was invested as Prince of Wales.North Wales is rich in minerals. You can see from the multi-coloured pebbles and gravel on the beach, just how varied the rocks are here. Mining of copper, coal, tin, slate, and granite has provided income for families in Wales over the centuries. You can visit copper and slate mines in the area. (Copper mine in Beddgelert, and slate mine in Blaenau Festiniog) Pwllheli, a port only a few km.
The Criccieth area
Criccieth and especially Pwllheli attract sailing enthusiasts. If you like golfing, Harlech has a course, but Criccieth can offer two minature courses! Rock Climbing can be done in Prenteg, near Tremadog, only 10 minutes drive away. For children there is a petting farm in Llanystymdwy, the next small town to Criccieth. There is horse riding in the area. Criccieth has always done well in the Wales in Bloom / Britain in Bloom competition. The High Street and central area of the town therefore always look spectacular in summer.
