The Lombardy / Lake Como Area

Lake Como offers hidden treasures just waiting for the visitor to discover them: charming corners forgotten by time, lakeside villages where nothing seems to have changed for centuries. It is steeped in history with an immense collection of churches, architectural masterpieces and works of art covering the centuries. The lake is situated in a basin surrounded by wooded mountains, and offers an extremely varied landscape, with its' shores featuring a succession of pastures, and woods as well as harsh and impressive rock formations. All this alongside elegant, lakeside villas with sub-tropical gardens, which provide a haven of peace and tranquillity and chic resorts such as Bellagio, Menaggio, Varenna and Como itself.

Cremia area

Cremia is a small village in the northern part of the lake, which has ancient origins, as there have been many archaeological finds in the area. Cremia consists of many different hamlets, some dating back to Roman times, which start at the lakeside and go up to the slopes of Mount Bregagno.
The Church of San Vito, is situated in the district of the same name, and was the old parish church. It is a lovely medieval building and is beautifully decorated. It also has small suspended arches and another unusual feature is the bell tower, which has mullioned windows. There are three aisles with pointed arches and a cross vault with ribbing from the fourteenth century.

Golf enthusiasts will enjoy this infamous 18-hole course on the hillside above Menaggio (open from March to November) with its British traditions and style. Or you could try the 9-hole, 3000ft high mountain course in Lanzio Intelvi (about 25miles). Some courses are open all the year round.

2. Villa Balbianello
Lenno, Como, Italy
Built in the late 16th century and only reached by boat from Sala Comacina, this magnificent villa is known for its picturesque gardens, which exclusively feature flowers and trees the colours of the Italian flag: green, white and red.

This luxurious palace, completed in 1690, is enriched by a magnificent English garden containing about 500 species of plants and flowers.

4. Menaggio
Hiking & Biking
This attractive resort, located on the western shore of Lake Como, is a joy for outdoor enthusiasts who may be tempted by wind surfing and water-skiing on the lake, as well as golf and horseback riding in the countryside.

5. Villa Serbelloni
This beautiful villa was built in 1873 surrounded by elegant gardens and park-like grounds with sweeping views of Lake Como.

8. Water sports
Water sports are a major activity in the Alto Lario from April until October: the southerly lake breeze being perfect for sailing and windsurfing. There are sailing, windsurfing and water-skiing schools - or you could try kite-surfing.. You can hire sailing and motor boats, windsurfers and canoes, or there are equipment and repair shops if you have your own. For something quieter you can hire rods and boats for fishing. For swimmers and sunbathers there are open-air pools as well as the lake and beaches.

9. Flying
Book a seaplane flight over the lake, based in Como? (Como has the only seaplane training school in Italy).

Cleaning Costs

There is a final cleaning cost of €70 when staying for one week & €90 when staying for two weeks with all bed-linen & towels included. If staying for two weeks or more – the bed-linen & towels will be refreshed after each week. All utility usage such as water, electricity & gas, are included in the rental price.

Payments by Credit/Debit Card & Wire Transfer

There are no additional charges for credit or debit card payments. However, all bank transfer fees are the responsibility of the sender. To make a confirmed booking, you will be asked to fill in our booking form online and pay a 30% deposit. The remaining balance will then be due 6 weeks before arrival.
