Further details outdoors: A unique and magical holiday awaits the discerning at the magnificent Château de Crazannes located in France’s beautiful Charente-Maritime region, within easy distance to La Rochelle, Cognac and other delightful destinations.
Built during the 11th and 15th centuries, the château, complete with heated swimming pool and private parking, is situated on breathtaking grounds in the middle of a large park. It has been beautifully and meticulously restored, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the elegant grandeur of bygone times yet enjoy the comforts of modern day living.
Today, it is renown as the setting for Charles’ Perrault’s timeless fairy tale “Puss-In-Boots” but in its past was a stopping ground for pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela. Classified a historical monument, the château can count among its illustrious visitors The Black Prince (1362) and the French king François the First (1519). The château offers its visitors Chef’s Tables, and, on request, an authentic French cuisine, prepared with fresh vegetables and herbs straight from the kitchen garden, can be served in the beautiful Pilgrim’s dining room. Sumptuously furnished, the Château de Crazannes also has a Keep and a Cottage on its grounds, and can be rented in its entirety, or in separate parts.
It is a perfect setting for family, group or corporate get-togethers and holidays, and is available for weddings, receptions, seminars and other special events. Let yourself be seduced by its elegant décor and incomparable ambience and comfort, ideal for all personal and professional occasions.

The entire site is available for rent all year round. This consists of the Château, the Keep and the Cottage and the exclusive use of the swimming pool and the grounds.
At other times different groups can rent separately, the Château, the Keep or the Cottage and share the swimming pool and grounds.
Conditions
Once you contact us and make a booking we will email you the link to our online printable booking form. Please complete this and return with a 30% deposit to confirm the reservation.
The balance is due six weeks before arrival. This deposit is refundable by us in some circumstances, but we strongly recommend that once you have paid the deposit taking out insurance against having to cancel the arrangements for any reason.
A refundable security deposit (see below) is required before arrival, and is returned to you within 7 days of your departure, less any breakages or damage.
