Craven Arms

The area is ideal for those who enjoy walking or cycling, especially as the Shropshire Hills can reward a little effort with sites of historical interest, such as the Iron Age hill-fort to be found at the summit of Long Mynd. The medieval market-towns of Ludlow and Church Stretton are about fifteen minutes away by car and offer you the chance to enjoy some of the best architecture in the county. Shrewsbury, Much Wenlock, Ironbridge and Bridgnorth are about thirty minutes away; Shrewsbury has been made familiar to us through the Brother Cadfael mysteries, but also offers modern-day spectacle in the forms of the Shrewsbury Flower Show and the famous Shrewsbury Folk Festival, when the hills do come alive with the sound of music.
