Tigh Ban Lek is an imaginatively conceived and individually designed purpose-built house in distinctive Swiss Chalet style, having been built from stone and substantial natural timbers.

The design award winning house was built in the late 1990s and has been carefully incorporated into the hillside and oriented entirely to maximise on the island views and seascapes extending over 30 miles to the south and west. This is an extremely comfortable, spacious and sophisticated holiday home.

Accommodation is laid out over two floors: an entrance vestibule leads to the reception hall and onto ground floor accommodation of two bedrooms. The ground floor also has an under stairs storage cupboard and WC/utility room. The master bedroom features an ensuite bathroom with jacuzzi tub and two shower heads over the bath utilising power showers. The second bedroom features an ensuite shower room with a large shower cubicle and a power shower. This room has twin beds that can easily be made into a zip-link King size bed. Both bedrooms have French doors out to the garden and take in the stunning views. Both en-suite bathrooms have heated tiled floors.

The spacious and bright open plan first floor consists of a neatly fitted and well equipped galley style kitchen, dining room and sitting room with French doors to the large balcony. The furniture comprises a three seater sofa, which can be converted into a full double sofa bed, a two seater sofa and two easy chairs. There is a gas fire in the corner of the living room, a TV with Sky freesat, integrated DVD player and stereo system with MP3 and ipod connection. A selection of books, DVDs, audio cds and games are supplied. Wifi is available and the oak dining table allows for six spacious settings. The kitchen has a good range of quality cookware, basic supplies and is well stocked for children.

The gardens are laid out over a number of levels with gently sloping gradients. They feature productive fruit trees, ornamental trees, numerous shrubs and border plants and extensive bulb plantings. Turning, car parking and standing area for around 4 cars are to the side of the house.

The Argyll and Bute region

There is a wealth of activities all within a short distance from the cottage. Argyll is one of the most beautiful areas of Scotland offering everything from beaches, lochs, history, walking and stunning scenery. The cottage is furnished in a modern and comfortable style providing spacious accommodation for up to 6 people. Everything is provided at Tigh Ban Lek for you to enjoy a relaxing holiday in a wonderful location.

The choice of walks from the area are numerous. A steep climb of less than 15 minutes from the back door (depending upon how fit you are!) brings you to a stunning view. Thank you very much for your review, much appreciated. It is true that in early January many local restaurants do close down for a period of time. We haven't had any other requests for an espresso machine as yet but if we get enough requests we will consider the addition.

"Great Location"

Wonderful location overlooking Loch-well equipped every need covered nice touch with the welcome pack -homemade shortbread lovely. Cottage needs a general makeover -looking tired in exterior decor and hard to reach interior.

Sorry to hear you feel the cottage needs a makeover. The stone exterior cannot be modified and we recently decorated the interior, including those hard to reach high sections in the lounge/dining area.
