Traditionally built for local character and charm, our cottage has timber beams and an open fireplace built with local stone. It is fitted and furnished to an award-winning standard throughout, and is cleaned and cared for every week by the owners.
The open-plan downstairs has a west-facing sitting area with comfy chairs, open fire, digital TV, DVD/video, CD/cassette player, telephone and WiFi. The kitchen and dining area is to the rear. In the kitchen we provide high quality crockery, cutlery, pots, pans and cooking utensils. There is also a dishwasher, electric oven and hob, large fridge/freezer, microwave oven, kettle, food processor, toaster, filter coffee machine, washing machine and tumble drier.
Upstairs has a master bedroom with 5ft bed, fitted wash basin and generous storage. The twin bedded room has views to the rear and all the beds are fitted with electric blankets. The bathroom has been recently refitted with new bath and electric shower, and also has a wash basin and a WC. Bath and hand towels, duvets with covers, sheets and pillowcases, tea towels and hairdryers are all provided. A cot (without linen) and highchair are available if required.
The cottage has electric panel heaters in every room. All electricity, and coal for the open fire, is provided at no extra cost. Well behaved pets are welcome, subject to certain conditions.
The small, friendly village of Craobh Haven (pronounced 'croove', after the Gaelic for a small tree or shrub) lies between Oban and Lochgilphead just north of Ardfern and has many things to do locally including boat trips, horse riding, bird and sealife spotting and spectacular walks.

The Argyll and Bute region
You will find Craobh Haven on the West Coast of Scotland. This is a region of Mountains, lochs and Islands wild with spectacular scenery yet only 100 miles from Glasgow.
An area of more prehistoric sites in a few square miles than anywhere else in Scotland. The first Scottish kings were crowned at Dunadd fort and St Columba landed on Iona in AD 563. 25 Munros are within 90 minutes including Ben Cruachan, Ben Lui and Glencoe. The town of Oban (20 miles) is known as the "Gateway to the Isles".
SUNSETS Craobh Haven and Ardfern are villages on either side of the Craignish peninsular an area of spectacular beauty with incredible sunsets seen from the Craobh Haven side.
WHIRLPOOLS AND WILDLIFE
The infamous Corrievreckan whirlpool between Scarba and Jura is the 3rd largest in the world and well worth a boat trip from Craobh Marina. Great for spotting an ubundance of wildlife including grey seals, golden eagles and red deer.
The excellent Appaloosa riding centre is 5 minutes from the house
Craobh Haven Watersports offers boat hire, canoeing, and sailing tuition.
There are many wonderful local walks from the house where you can soak up the scenery, watch the wildlife or indulge your artistic tendencies with painting or photography as the light is extraordinary in this beautiful area.
Arduaine, and Crarae National Trust gardens to name a couple but there are many more.
Mid Argyll is a truly fascinating area to stay as there are more prehistoric sites for it's size than anywhere else in Scotland. You can visit Dunadd fort where the first kings of Scotland were crowned in the Kilmartin Glen and where many archaeological sites are centred around the Kilmartin Museum of Ancient culture.
Travel on a little further to Inverary, with it's castle (home to the Duke and Duchess of Argyll) and also the historic jail.
The gateway to the Isles of Mull (Duart Castle, Tobermory), Iona (St Columba landed here in 563 AD), Staffa (Fingal's cave) Coll, Tiree, Colonsay and the Outer Hebrides. Ferries and boat trips depart from this port.
Sea fishing can be arranged from Oban and there is very good freshwater fishing on Loch Awe.
Seil Island has a 9 hole course and Oban a more challenging 18 hole course with it's hilly situation.
