A family seaside holiday in a high quality, luxury holiday cottage beckons. Dale Cottage is located in a small terrace of cottages and arranged on 3 floors offering really excellent accommodation for family parties or groups. Dale Cottage has been decorated in a modern country chic style (reminiscent of Kath Kidston).

The beds are really comfortable and cosy, just the place to relax after a hard day walking, surfing or just chilling. We can sleep two couples and two singles or one couple and 4 singles (albeit two singles will share a room).

There is a private garden to the rear which faces South West. The garden is tiered on 3 levels with a lovely patio area in the middle with table and chairs, ideal for outdoor dining.

3. CHANGE OVER DATE

The start date and end date of holidays (change over day) is fixed and cannot be changed. Short breaks can start on a different day but must start and end within the booking week. Please note we do not start holidays at any other date than the displayed start date.

4. REDUCED OCCUPANCY DISCOUNTS

From September to May cottages are charged at a base rate for the minimum number of guests as stated in the pricing tab. Additional guests may be added as shown in the pricing tab. Not available during Christmas, New Year and February Half Term.

5. SHORT BREAK DISCOUNTS

Short Breaks of 4 nights or less are between November and Easter, excluding school holidays, at a discount of 10% off the full week price. Not available during Christmas, New Year and February Half Term. Please note: we do not offer short break discounts at other times.

6. DOGS

In cottages where dogs are allowed, they are charged at £40 each. A refundable occupancy deposit may be payable on arrival to the Property Manager. We do not allow more than 2 dogs in any of our properties.

7. MINIMUM AGE

At least half of your party must be over 23 to book one of our cottages.

Downstairs there is a sitting room with log burner, leading to the breakfast dining room with another log burner and french doors to the sunny garden. A door leads to the fitted kitchen. There is a washing machine at Dale Cottage and this is housed in an outbuilding.

Upstairs there are 4 bedrooms. On the first floor there is a bedroom that can be arranged as twin singes or a superking bed, a bathroom with overbath shower and two single rooms.

Downstairs, there is a lovely cosy sitting room with corner sofa and armchair. There is a log burner in this room providing a central focus to the room. An open doorway leads to the dining room with chunky dining table and chairs. A huge fridge/freezer painted to co-ordinate with the room can be found here too. French doors lead to the garden.

The kitchen is to the rear of the property. It is fitted in a galley style and has everything required for a self catering holiday in our lovely village.

There is access through a side gate to the garden. Ideal to bring surf boards through! The garden is on 3 levels. A courtyard garden with access to the kitchen and dining room. Steps up to large patio with very stylish garden furniture and a large sail shaped parasol. The top level is grassed and has access to the laundry room.

Dale Cottage is located in the middle of the village. Parking is restricted through June, July and August in the village centre. The owners have provided a parking pass for one car in the Village Hall Car Park. This is approximately a three minute walk away. A second car will have to be parked in one of the non restricted roads in the village.

Dogs are welcome to come and stay in Dale Cottage, subject to a refundable damages deposit. Bed linen and towels for personal use are included. Beach towels are not included or provided.

The Cornwall region

Where do you start in describing Cornwall? Cornwall has many personalities! It has the longest coastline of any English County and is bound by water on 3 sides. The light here is almost transluscent and even more so when standing by the sea or beach.

There are rolling fields with cows, pigs and sheep; lakes full of fish and stacked with activities such as fishing, sailing and windsurfing; fill your day marching the South West Coastal Path or just wandering around the interesting towns and villages. There are beautiful dells with still or rushing water ideal for all fishermen. But the best of all the the beaches. Miles and miles of them. Some have soft golden sand others are more volcanic in nature but all of them take your breath away.

Much of the food sold in the nation's supermarkets is grown in Cornwall - there are Farmer's Markets in many of the larger town - enjoy your vegetables really fresh. We have an abundance of fish - get it from the quayside in Newlyn or via the fishmongers that can be found in the coastal villages. There are many artisan producers of jams, pickles, breads and cakes in the larger towns such as Bodmin and Truro,

Visit the Camel Valley for a taste of award winning wines. A grand day out if ever there was one.

The National Trust owns and runs many properties in Cornwall including Trelissick Gardens. There is an enormous choice of public houses and you will now find Michelin starred restaurants without too much trouble.

So much to do, see and eat!

Crantock

Crantock is a real gem of a village. The village feels like you have slightly stepped back in time. There is a Post Office and shop (selling fresh pasties, bread and general groceries). There are 2 public houses, a tea rooms and in the summer you will find a beachside cafe tucked into the dunes.

Surfing is the big beach activity in Crantock, if you have forgotten your wetsuit, don't worry as you can rent one from the shack on the beach.

Walking is incredibly popular - there is something for everyone. Coat, hat and boots on, walk out of the door to the beach through the dunes and take in the view. The more adventurous can pick up the South West Coastal Path and walk on to Holywell and Perranporth in one direction or to Newquay in the other.

The first Friday in September unites the village in The Bale Push. Teams of keen, strong men or women unite to push bales of hay up the hill against each other. Fortified with plenty of ale first! Great fun for all the family. During July there is a village fete held with stalls supporting local and national charities.

During the late Spring Bank Holiday all of Newquay enjoys the sight of many camper vans in "The Run to the Sun".
