Home description
Wake to sunlight streaming in from the balcony of the bedroom. Step into the living room for a beautiful view of the Alps. Take a 5-minute walk to the village for a breakfast of buttery, flaky croissants and freshly brewed coffee. Then, in winter, head to the mountains for skiing or sledding on the slopes - stopping to lunch on some of the hearty food of the Valais region.
In the summer, hike through wildflowers and streams to the melody of bells ringing, cows mooing and goats bleating. Or, walk to the golf course or enjoy water sports at nearby Lac Moubra. There are plenty of biking opportunities. If the weather is clear, a meal on the balcony, watching the sun set over the Alps is the perfect end to a day. In the winter, cozy up inside, with cheese fondue or raclette in front of the fire, watching the snow fall gently on the village.

The Swiss Alps / Valais/Swiss Alps region
CRANS MONTANA is one of Switzerland’s big, world-famous ski resorts, occupying the sunniest plateau in the Alps, facing south over the Rhône valley with a spectacular panorama of mountain peaks. It also has some of the finest shopping, wining and dining in the Alps. The resort has the advantage of access to ski year-round on the Plaine Morte glacier, way up above 3000m. Skiing aside, the place is best known for hosting the European Masters golf tournament (aka Swiss Open) every September, second only to the British Open for prestige and top names. Crans’s scenic course – “by far the most spectacular tournament site in the world” according to Greg Norman – was redesigned in 1999 by Seve Ballesteros. The villages have activities for all ages, and families with children are welcomed. The tourist office publishes a monthly list of activities, including concerts and sporting events as well as maps of the pistes or ski runs and pricing. The casino is open 7 days a week. There are hiking, biking and walking trails for people of every ability.

A tournament like no other: breathtaking alpine setting and warm village hospitality create a truly special ambiance. You have to be in Crans Montana at the stars of September to sample that lively mix first hand.

It‘s an attractive event for spectators too, who marvel at the race above their heads from a down-to-earth perspective.

How to get there
GENEVA is the closest large airport, with regular service from Easy Jet as well as major airlines. From Geneva,one may take the train 2 hours to Sierre/Siders. From there, take a taxi to the apartment directly, or continue on he funiculaire to Montana and hail a cab there. Bus service from Sierre is also available. Trains run from Geneva to Sierre hourly. By car Motorway A9 to Sierre, then follow the signs for Crans-Montana (approx. 15 km) . From BASEL, BERN, ZURICH : through Lötschberg tunnel then A9 motorway to Sierre. From BRIG: A9 motorway to Sierre . From SIERRE: main road Chermignon-Crans-Montana or Mollens-Crans-Montana. From SION : main road Lens-Crans-Montana. From MILANO: Simplon Pass then A9 motorway to Sierre.

Further details indoors: This apartment has been our family’s vacation spot for many years. We typically spend 3 months a year there, ourselves. So, it is very clean, well-maintained, and well-appointed with every comfort, decorated in a traditional European style that says "Welcome." It is on the second story and has three balconies with good views of the Alps and the surroundings. It has 80 sqr meters livable space, with plenty of storage space including 2 closets, an armoire, chest of drawers, many shelves and a ski locker.
There are two baths: shower/sink/WC and tub/bidet/sink/WC. One bedroom has a double/queen bed and private balcony. A second bedroom has a unit with shelves and an activity table or two single murphy beds with inner spring mattresses. All things necessary for meals (china, flatware, cups, glasses, spices, cookware and utensils) are provided. Kitchen, bath and bed linens for two people are included in the price; additional sets are available for 15 GBP per person. The dining table seats 6 comfortably; a teak patio set is also available for dining al fresco. Some prepared foods, paper products, local wines and firewood are available on the 'honour system.' Please replace what you use!
Cable TV, ADSL internet access, DVDs, books and games are available for your enjoyment (most are in English). Actual Internet and phone charges will be deducted from security deposit. Guests staying longer than 2 weeks may use the shared laundry facilities.
Further details outdoors: While a car may be useful for touring, a car is not needed to reach the apartment nor is it necessary in the village. Shopping and services are within a 10 minute walk. The building has private, off street parking available and is accessible by public transportation. The free seasonal (winter) bus stops within 50 meters from the building. From the Train station in Sierre/Siders or the funiculaire in Montana, taxi service is available. Stop by the Tourist office to pay your visitor's tax and pick up maps, directories, and monthly events calendar. The Visitor's tax is CHF 2.50 per day for adults and CHF 1.25/day for children ages 6-15.
Three balconies: north facing the village and mountain (kitchen), east facing local surroundings and trees (double bedroom) and south facing Alps (dining area). Teak dining set available for dining on balcony.

A 50% downpayment is required to reserve, which includes a CHF 100 non-refundable processing fee. Your downpayment (minus the CHF 100) is refundable if you cancel at least 45 days before the beginning of the rental period.

Smoking allowed outside only, please. One pet allowed, with payment of pet deposit, refundable if there are no pet accidents or hair. Because one must walk several steps to access the lift, the buidling and apartment are not wheelchair accessible.
