About the home

Luxury self catering house in centre of historic East Neuk lobster fishing village. Sitting room, kitchen/diner, 2 double bedrooms (one with views over roofs to May Island), 1 single, small study with views over roofs to May Island, 2 bathrooms (one luxury with large shower &freestanding bath), utility room. Free wifi & ipod docks. Extensive range of books and DVDs. Free parking (usually at door).

Sympathetically restored, lots of original woodwork, leather & oak furniture, coal effect gas fire, local artworks and original photographs.

Easy access to coastal walks, many golf courses, historic fishing villages & St Andrews. railway station 30 mins with regular fas access to centre of Edinburgh (1 hour) and Dundee (20 mins)

Price includes Aran Aromatic toiletries, linen, sparling wine, chocolate, biscuits, fresh coffee, bread, butter & tea. 2 Bathrobes (and champagne) for luxury winter weekends.

The Fife region

A varied historic county with miles of beautiful coastline and picturesque fishing villages fating back to 17th century. The principle town of St Andrews (10 miles) is well known as a university town and the home of golf. It has beautiful beaches and and many good restaurants. Other attractions include local galleries, well known Pittenweem Art Festival, Kellie Castle. Falkland Place, SS Discovery at Dundee, Cambo Snowdrop Festival all within easy reach of Crail. Edinburgh centre 1 hour by regular train from nearby Leuchars - world famous arts festival in August & September and historic sights such as Edinburgh Castle, Holyrood Place and the Royal Mile

The Crail area

Famous lobster fishing village with hsitoric harbour dating back to 17th century. Lovely coast walking for miles in either direction along well marked coast path passing through more fishing villages such as Anstruther, Pittenweem & St Monans (all linked by good regular bus service) - and endless golf courses within 5-30 minutes drive.

“The Posthouse Crail is truly 1st Class” This property is not your usual holiday rental but clearly a well loved family home with all the extra's often missed when staying away. Comfortable beds, quality bedding, a luxury bathroom and fully equipped kitchen. A coal effect gas fire, and the extra addition of a bottle of bubbly cooling in the fridge and a basket of tasty treats all made us feel very welcome. The Posthouse however, is built over three floors which may not suit those with mobility problems. It also has no outdoor space which may put some off. However, with the picturesque village of Crail on your doorstep, the beautiful East Neuk of Fife to explore and such friendly locals to while away the time with, that is hardly a problem. I cannot fault this property or the owners David and Marysia and only hope that we will be able to return sometime very soon.
