About the home

This is an attractive terraced stone built cottage in a row of five, only a short walk to the historic fishing village of Crail. They have wonderful South facing views towards the Firth of Forth and May Isle.

Throughout the year, the view to the Firth of Forth and the May Isle continues to fascinate. In the summer, fishing boats and yachts sail up and down the Forth, whilst in the winter, from the warmth of the cottage, one can see the waves crashing onto the island. The cottage has a private garden but shares a large children's play area equipped with swings, see-saw, sand pit, play hut and a small football pitch with goals.

Sleeps 5 - full weeks and short breaks (Saturday to Saturday only in summer school holidays )

Our weekend rates are generally 65% - 75% of our weekly rate. Our nightly rate is not worked out on a pro rata basis from our weekly rate and generally we do not accept bookings of less than 3 nights.

The Fife region

Our properties are based in several locations along the coast from St. Andrews to Crail. The area is rich in history and has many attractions historical and sporting, the main one being golf. The nearest train station is Leuchars and we are about 1hour 20mins North of Edinburgh. From Glasgow we are a full 2 hours driving. If coming to the area it is probably best to have a car as plenty of beautiful and interesting places can be found within a short drive from our locations. If you are planning on not hiring or bringing a car, it is best to stick to our properties within the town centres of St. Andrews or Crail. If arriving by plane the quickest travel option is to hire a car from either Glasgow or Edinburgh airport. Where as if you are arriving by train it is easiest to continue by train from Edinburgh to Leuchars and then hire a car locally (the train takes about 6 hours from London).

The Crail area

A small, traditional fishing village within the East Neuk. Seemingly untouched by time, the traditions of the old East Neuk fishermen live on in this untainted part of Scotland. Situated on the Firth of Forth, originally Crail and other such villages in the area provided Scotland with vital sea ports for trade with the low countries. The village now offers a peaceful and unhurried lifestyle within a picturesque environment which has attracted artists since Victorian times, and boasts one of the most photographed harbours in Scotland. It also claims the distinction of having the 7th oldest golf club in the world.

Most of our properties in Crail are within walking distance of the village, meaning you can easily walk to the shore, coastal path and Crail beaches. Most have sea views and offer a more relaxed pace of holiday, however there is plenty to do for the more adventurous.

“Peaceful Cottage with Beautiful View” Had a lovely few days at Lairdsgate. Very cold but bright weather so open fire needed to keep cosy. Everything you need to be home from home.

“Nice cottage close to the sea” Nice cottage with good facilities. Dishwasher and washing machine were very handy. Good location to explore Fife.
