About the home
A 'Premium Property' set in one of Scotland's most 'Lovely Location' with easy access to some of the 'Great Golf' courses of the world.
The Coach House (formerly part of the old Denburn House) is situated 200 metres from the centre of Crail on the village through road which takes you to Crail Golf Club, the 7th oldest golf club in the world. This quaint, scenic seaside and harbour village offers relaxing shoreline walks, seafishing from the rocks, harbour or beach along with the most challenging golf courses in the world and to finish your day....local pubs serving up traditional beers with locally caught fish and chips!!
The Coach House gives you both the old and the new. Formerly built in the early part of the 19th century it has retained all its charm and character while after recent renovation it has been internally designed for the convenience of modern day living. Located adjacent to Denburn Wood, the Wood is a protected area and is maintained by the Crail Preservation Society.
The house enjoys partial sea (aprox. 200m away) views. It has three floors and a gated driveway with parking space for one car. On the ground floor you can enter the house from the driveway which leads to the kitchen and dining area. The kitchen is equipped to a very high standard and with all modern appliances. From the driveway you can access the garden and patio area via the outside steps.
The outside steps and inside stairs lead to the first floor where there is a spacious, tastefully decorated lounge with HD Freesat TV and games console. On the same level there is a large double bedroom (1) furnished with a 'comfy' Kingsize Bed, Sofa, games console and SD Freesat TV. Ideal for grandparents as the large bathroom with Jacuzzi Bath is next to bedroom (1).
The second floor comprises of two further double bedrooms, one with en suite. The large double bedroom (2) has a double bed and single bed, games console and SD Freesat TV. The other Bedroom (3) with en-suite, has a 'comfy' Kingsize Bed. The East Neuk of Fife has been described as "Scotland's Riveria" it consists of beautiful fishing villages such as Pittenween, St. Monans and Anstruther and the lovely coastal villages of Elie, Kingsbarns, Upper Largo and Lower Largo and not forgetting the most famous golfing town of St. Andrews.
The weather as everyone knows in Scotland can be "Unpredictable" but usually during the summer months we do enjoy mostly warm weather and sunshine however it is always advisable to be prepared so do bring rain jackets and coats!
The Crail area
Crail was made a Royal Burgh in 1300 by Robert the Bruce and Marketgate which is in the centre was once the largest medieval marketplace in Europe. Crail is steeped in history and Crail Harbour is the most photographed harbour in Scotland. On a Saturday and Sunday there is a small wooden hut beside the harbour where fresh lobster and crab can be bought. There is also a quaint art gallery and coffee shop just a few yards up from the harbour which serves delicious homemade scones served with fresh cream and Jam. The Golf Hotel which dates back to 1700 is a nice place to go for a pub lunch or dinner. The town has its own Butchers, Bakers and Fruit and Vegetable Shop. It also has two small convenience stores which stock most provisions you will need for your holiday or if you require a greater range or source of produce we recommend several large 'supermarkets' in our information sheets. There are two art galleries and a pottery shop. In July there is the Crail Festival which runs from the 20th to the 31st and there are open air concerts, Ceilidh, Sandcastle Competitions and Ghost Walks. In Pittenween which is a 10 minute drive away there is the Pittenween Arts Festival which runs from the 7th to 15th August where local people open up their houses as art galleries for local artists.

We had a fantastic 2 weeks in this great house. Beautifully fitted out and so close to the beach, playpark and rock pools. We spent hours catching crabs and at the playpark with our two children 8 and 5. Crail is a gorgeous holiday village and everything is close by. Maureen and Ken (owners) couldn't be more helpful or welcoming. |

We visited Crail for a friend's wedding and were absolutely delighted to find such a lovely place to stay. The Coach House is beautifully furnished and thoughtfully equipped with absolutely everything you could possibly ever need during your trip. Maureen and Ken were really helpful and we would highly recommend the Coach House to anyone thinking of visiting Crail or neighboring St Andrews. |
