Home description
A beautiful, old wooden beach house right on the waters edge. The house is recently renovated to a high quality, and comprises two bedrooms, lounge and dining room, kitchen, bathroom and shower room.
Direct access to the beach and foreshore, and slipway. The Lookout is separated from the sea only by a narrow foot path and a high solid, teak fence. Inside is a court yard, and gentle low steps leading up to the front door on the side of the house. There is also a small lawn running alongside the house, and a wild garden up behind the house, great to explore for children.
Enjoy a morning swim, leave your bath robe on the slip way and take in the stunning sunsets over a cool drink in the evenings...
The pictures include some furniture that has since been changed, as this was our family home. The house is furnished in a comfortable beach style with all the things you need. The kitchen is very well equipped with a double oven, built in, a five burner gas cooker and plenty of cupboards etc. with good quality crockery, glass ware and cutlery.
In the lounge is a very old large, solid wood burner, once imported from America. On a chilly morning this gives off a lovely heat and creates a cosy atmosphere. (The house also has new central heating etc).

The Isle of Wight region
The Isle of Wight is a great place to enjoy a relaxing break, at any time of the year. It is a stunning Island with unspoilt scenery, fantastic beaches and a wealth of fascinating attractions.
For those who require a more laid back approach, about half of the island has been designated an 'area of natural beauty'. Add to the mix the wealth of top quality accommodation, great restaurants and good shopping and there is something to suit everyone.
Great places to visit include: Osbourne House - holiday home of Queen Victoria, Ventnor Botanical Gardens- a magnificent sub-tropcal paradise on the waters edge, The Needles lighthouse, Alum Bay with its coloured sands, for much more go the the Island web site http://www.islandbreaks.co.uk/site/places-to-visit
Cowes / Gurnard area
Right on the waters edge you can watch the sailing and hear the sails flapping, there's always something going on on the water. We can arrange a sailing dinghy, or a canoe, or a small rib dinghy. The local amenities include the great "The Waters Edge" cafe, for the best breakfast on the world
Cowes and all its shops and restaurants is a short distance away, a 25 minute walk. The village of Gurnard also has a deli, an 8 till 8 Londis general food store, two pubs and a church.
Other pleasures to enjoy include: tennis and swimming at Gurnard Pines, riding at Cockleton Lane Stables and beach combing along the foreshore.
Sailing courses are available every week of the season at IYWAC ( Island Youth Water Activity Centre) and at UKSA ( UK sailing academy)
Car and passenger ferries from Southampton, Portsmouth and Lymington. Red Funnel operates between Southampton and Cowes. Its fast passenger service goes to West Cowes and the car ferry goes to East Cowes.
WightLink has car ferry services between Lymington and Yarmouth, and Portsmouth to Fishbourne and a passenger only service between Portsmouth to Ryde.
