The Isle of Wight region
Situated in the village of Gurnard, near Cowes on the Isle of Wight, Gurnard Pines is ideally situated for all that the Island has to offer. There are numerous beaches, great sailing, windsurfing, walking and cycling, making the Isle of Wight the perfect location. Children are spoilt for choice with hundreds of activities locally, from Blackgang Chine to Robin Hill, Horse riding to fun fairs, Zoo's to tree climbing, the choice is endless.
The Cowes / Gurnard area
Set within 50 acres of private woodland, a short stroll from the beach and close to the yachting capital of Cowes, Gurnard Pines is the perfect destination for a family holiday.
Walk round the village and experience the quaint local shops and friendly residents or take a walk around the beautiful Gurnard Bay.
Gurnard is only 2 miles from the seaport town of Cowes, where the famous sailing regatta takes place in the first week of August. You can easily hop on the local bus service for a day trip to this town, so it is easily accessible.

Gurnard Pines is close to the Village of Gurnard just to the West of Cowes on the Isle of Wight.
Most people arrive on the Island by boat, the main ferry companies are Wight Link who sail between Lymington – Yarmouth and Portsmouth – Fishbourne and Red Funnel who sail between Southampton – East Cowes.
Directions from the Red Funnel Car Ferry (Via Southampton) – From East Cowes you can either use the Chain ferry across the River Medina and then make your way through Cowes to Gurnard or you can drive around the river via Newport. From Newport follow the signs to Cowes. When you arrive at Northwood village follow the instructions below.
Directions from Wightlink Car Ferry (Via Portsmouth) – When you land at Fishbourne, follow the road signs to Newport and then the signs to Cowes. You will then arrive at Northwood from where you should follow instruction below.
Directions from Wightlink Car Ferry (Via Lymington) – When you land at Yarmouth, follow the signs to Newport and Cowes. When approaching Newport take the left turn to Cowes on the A3020. You will then arrive at Northwood from where you should follow instruction below.
From Northwood – At a set of traffic lights near Northwood Garage take the left hand fork (Nodes Road). In approximately half a mile turn left and immediately right into Cockleton Lane. Continue along the road until you reach a mini roundabout which is the entrance to Gurnard Pines on the left.
Drive into Gurnard Pines following the road round to the reception building. Just before you reach the reception building turn left and follow the road for 100 yards. The chalet is on the right facing the green.

The chalet is exactly as it looks in the pictures. It's comfortable, warm and decently located. The owner was incredibly friendly and forthcoming and made our stay there very easy. |

Its a lovely Cottage, comfortable and was clean and tidy on arrival. This house has everything anyone could want for a relaxed stay. Owners have taken care of every little possible thing in decoration and furnishing of the cottage. Its newly refurbished and very well maintained with comfortable beds. Bathroom nad kitchen are newly furnished and has most of the accessories including towels. It is very well equipped with everything you could possilby need for a Self Catering holiday. All the rooms are very well lit and you can enjoy sun rise and sets. Living room overlooks a large grass ground on which our 15month olds were there all the time. Could keep an eye on them and relax. It is very closely located to Gurnard beach which is a pebble beach. Yamouth and Needles bay are 15 - 25 minutes away. if you are looking for sandy beaches then perhaps its better to stay on eastern side of the island. We were blessed with good weather too and enjoyed our stay. |

Stayed in this chalet with family for a week at start of August. Perfect place to stay with all the leisure facilities literally on your doorstep. Accommodation is immaculate, newly decorated and a lovely seaside nautical feel without any tackiness. Beds really comfortable, great view from dining table out onto large grassy area where the kids can literally run out onto a green, completely car free so very safe. Also a view of the outdoor pool from your patio, sunloungers also in the storage on outside, a really great place to relax with loads to keep the kids occupied. Beautiful rural walk downhill to Gurnard, a must is the Little Gloucester restaurant, with garden right on the sea front, where you can enjoy local fish whilst watching the boats sailing by. TOP TOP place! |
