The Isle of Wight region
The Isle of Wight is a great place to visit. In some ways, time has stood still, with Osborne House, Carisbrooke Castle and many other timeless attractions. On the other hand, it's where the worlds yachtsmen come to compete against the very best, while pitting themselves against the complex tides and winds of the Solent (not forgetting to party hard and long afterwards!) for some of the top sailing cups in the world.
However, the Isle of Wight is not just about sailing. The chance to walk on high cliffs, on your own, with just a storm toss'd sea before you, may make the visit worth while for you. The wealth of really good quality restaurants and convivial pubs may also make you really feel at home. This is a destination for any time of year, be it a family break, or an oasis of peace. The Cowes Boat House can give you all of this.
Cowes is a wonderful town, and has many moods. Cowes Week, Little Britain and the Red Funnel event at Easter are the headline events, though there are many other sailing regattas from March to September each year.
But Cowes is more than that. It is very much the live connection to the whole island, a base from which the whole of the island can be explored and enjoyed, from Ventnor and St Catherines Point, to Bembridge, to the Needles. The Island is a place of contrast. Enjoy it all from your central base in Cowes!
Cowes itself has a wide range of cafes, pubs and restaurants, to suit every taste and budget. There are excellent food and hostelry outlets, from traditional pubs to Indian, Chinese and Italian, or even take a river taxi in the summer to the Folly Inn on the Medina River near Whippingham, for a great night out, for possibly the best steaks on the IoW!

"Comfortable and convenient!"
Property was very clean and well prepared. Easy instructions where needed. Parking slight nuisance but always found space although occasionally a street away. Plenty of choice for bus, shops, restaurant etc a short ten minute walk away. Would happily book The Beach House again!

"Perfect Cottage & Great Location"
Fantastic accommodation and very well equipped. The property has lots of space and is very comfortable. The cottage is in a great location seconds from the town centre and ferry but also an ideal base if you are visiting the whole island. But the best thing about it is that it feels like home minuets after arriving. Had a great stay will go again.

Had a fantastic trip to Cowes staying in a lovely house called the boathouse? The house is close to all the amenities that Cowes has to offer. The house is spacious and well decorated with a very homely feel and is spotless clean. We had a fantastic time eating and drinking with some shopping thrown in and sitting watching the beautiful boats coming and going from the harbour. I would highly recommend both this property and Cowes for a wonderful holiday.

"Lovely house in a brilliant location"
The house was very clean and tidy, with a well equipped kitchen. The living area has comfortable and stylish furnishings making it a perfect place to relax after a day at the beach. The fact that there is a bathroom and shower room with a toilet in each makes it perfect for a family or a large group . There are lovely local gift shops and restaurants a short walk away, as well as the harbour and beach. It is a wonderful house and I would definitely recommend it.

"Home from home in a great location, close to all the amenities"
Such a lovely cosy house with everything you could want when away from home. Comfortable and well presented, light and airy bedrooms with loads of room. Didn't feel cramped at all with so many of us staying there. So close to town and the harbour, but in a quiet area. We had a great stay and will definately be back again!!!

"Excellent accomodation, great location, would definately recommend."
We decided to visit the Isle of Wight during half term, and visited Emma's house. The accomodation was very welcoming, all that we needed to enjoy our lovely week in Cowes. We visited all the local attractions which included Robin Hill, Black Gang Chine, The Big Cat Santuary and much more. The local pubs and restaurants were very welcoming and the house gave us easy access to the local facilities. We have two boys and also travelled with my sisters family of two girls and I can honestly say it is one of their favourite holidays.
