The Old Wine House is situated above the Quarter Penny Café in the heart of the market town of Cowbridge. Whilst it is not rural, it is very peaceful and within a stone's throw of the amenities of Cowbridge High Street and its shops, cafés, restaurants and bars. The building dates back to the 1700s but has all the mod cons that we love to be surrounded with today.

The apartment has two double (or one twin and one double to suit) bedrooms with a Jack and Jill shower room. Please be aware that the apartment is on the first floor and there are steps up to it. There is a fully equipped, open plan kitchen diner and living room with wood burning stove. The lounge has leather sofas (one of which is a double sofa bed) with a flat-screen TV and DVD player. There is a private roof terrace, overlooking the historic roof tops of Cowbridge with garden sofas, dining table and chairs and a shared BBQ. The apartment is best suited for two – four people, but can sleep six if required (please note the bathroom is shared).

The Old Wine House is well equipped and furnished. The kitchen has a dishwasher, electric oven and gas hob, washing machine, microwave and plenty of cooking utensils. There is no telephone, but mobile reception is generally good. There is excellent free Wi-Fi in The Café downstairs. We service the cottage when needed early afternoon. The cottage is non-smoking and cannot house any animals. There is no dedicated parking, although there is a free car-park within a two minute walk.

About this location

The Vale of Glamorgan region

Cowbridge is in the heart of the Vale of Glamorgan. It is a fantastic place to stay and is close to both the beautiful heritage coastline as well as the Welsh Capital, home of rugby - Cardiff.

It is an attractive place to visit and a fantastic place to shop with a diversity and choice generally unexpected of a small town. Many traditionally run family businesses and new enterprises combine to create a unique mix of traditional and modern, offering an unrivalled level of expertise and service.

Cowbridge boasts a superb range of bistros, restaurants, pubs and wine bars, catering for all tastes and each with their own individual character and style.

An annual food festival is held in the town every October and an annual Reindeer Parade every November.

Cowbridge's historic past is reflected in its present day buildings, which add to the interest and character of the town. The area around High Street is a pleasure to explore while the tranquil Physic Garden is a relaxing place to learn more about the curative properties of plants.
