The Coach House at Otterburn, Blairmore is truly something special. It's the definition of contemporary. The interiors are of a modern design with smooth, polished surfaces, clean lines and an uncluttered look. The overall feeling is of space and comfort with the focus on colour, texture, furniture and lighting.

Access to the Coach House is via the shared driveway of Otterburn Villa, both of which are listed buildings. Upon entering Coach House you are immeduately in the state-of-the-art kitchen area which also has a dining table for 4. The Pro Norm kitchen is from a leading German designer, individually made for The Coach House and is equipped with Bosch appliances. The kitchen opens up to a lower level lounge where there is seating for 6, SMART TV and views to the loch via the folding glass doors which can be fully opened. FREE WiFi is available shared from Otterburn House. A great deal of thought has gone into the fixtures and fittings throughout the house with lighting from Tom Dixon and Flos and with furniture that matches the rest of the asthetic. The house is always warm and cosy due to the underfloor heating throughout the ground floor and radiators on the upper level. There are loch views from the lounge and the upstairs twin bedroom. Outside there is patio furniture for your own use and shared access to the large grass lawn adjacent to the holiday home. It even has it's own waterfall.

Interior light was an integral element in the design philosophy. This is apparent when you look up through the glass landing, which is also the glass floor for the upper level and which links upstairs bedrooms and bathroom. Large Velux windows in both bedrooms, in the bathroom and above the stair, flood the property with light. The second floor is accessed via a bespoke, hand made oak staircase. There you will find a double bedroom to the rear with views over the garden and a twin bedroom to the front with loch views. The bathroom has a deep bath perfect for relaxing in as well as a large rainwater shower head with separate body spray.

The village of Blairmore is located on the Cowal Peninsula on the western shore of Loch Long. It is between the villages of Strone to the south and Ardnetinny to the north. Built largely during the Victorian era there are a number of impressive villas all placed to make the most of the delightful views of the First of Clyde down to Cloch Point. There is a pier which welcomes the MV Waverely, the worlds last fully working paddle steamer, when it calls in regularly during its Clyde excursions in the summer. The esplanade along the loch side is perfect for strolling and enjoying the scenery, the ever changing light, birdlife and watching whats happening on the loch. Bring your bikes for easy cycling on quiet roads. There is a gallery and cafe nearby in the village as well as a choice of places to eat and dine in the area.

Getting here is easy. Most guests arrive on the frequent 20 minute Gourock to Hunters Quay car ferry. No need to book - just turn up. It is then only 20 minutes from the ferry to The Coach House. You can also arrive by road via Loch Lomond, the Rest-and-be-Thankful and scenic Loch Eck.

The Cowal Peninsula is an unspoilt area offering touring on quiet roads. Head north to Ardkinglas House, Loch Fyne and Inveraray, West to the Kyles of Bute, Tighnabruaich and Portavadie for a day trip by ferry to Tarbert on the Mull of Kintyre, South to Dunoon and then over the scenic hill road by Loch Striven to the ferry to the Isle of Bute. There are many marked walking trails in the area and the Ardentinny to Carrick Castle path has wonderful view looking north up Loch Goil from the highest part. Right on our doorstep in Blairmore is Quadmania which offers quad biking, clay pigeon shooting and archery all year round.

The Coach House offers you as relaxing a break as you wish, or you can head out and explore knowing that you have a truly special place to return to later in the day.

"Wow what a location!"
