Chalet Belle Vue
Chalet | 2 bedrooms | sleeps 4
A delightful, private Chalet beautifully located in the world famous Courchevel Ski Resort, part of the massive Three Valley ski area. This spacious Chalet is just minutes away from Courchevel 1850 and offers splendid accommodation for small groups or families not wanting to share a larger Chalet both in Winter and Summer. The Chalet has been refurbished and newly furnished and keeps its traditional charm but with all mod cons such as WiFi, UK Sky TV, dishwasher, tumble dryer, washing machine and lots more. It is laid out over three floors and a real home from home - a great place to come back to after a day on the slopes, once that log burner is lit you wont want to leave! There are also stunning, uninterrupted views, from the master bedroom and private terrace, of the Grand Bec and Bellecote Glaciers, something we never get bored of !
Courchevel and the Three Valleys has 650km of groomed pistes and a world renowned lift system which gives ease of access around the resorts. There is something for everyone from the complete novice to the off-piste adventurer. It's also great for kids with plenty of ski schools and creches to keep them occupied.
The Chalet is also a great place to spend your Summer break too. With lake swimming, mountain biking, kayaking, via ferrata, and of course wonderful marked walks you'll never get bored of places to see. The scenery is to die for and, in Summer, you can enjoy an al-fresco meal on the private roof terrace while taking in the breathtaking scenery.

The Chalet is very different in style to the modern, newly built chalets that make up most of the higher resorts of Courchevel. It is laid out over three floors and, after entering the front door, up a short flight of stairs you enter the large kitchen/diner. This has been newly fitted with full size oven and 4 ring halogen hob, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. There is a nice wooden dining table, chairs and bench seating 6 people comfortably. Leaving the kitchen you enter the sitting room with two large sofas big enough for 6 people comfortably. There is a large flat screen TV with UK Sky, iPod Docking station, CD and DVD players. It is furnished in a modern French style and in the centre of the room is a large log burner to keep the house cosy on those cold nights. Up the sprial stairs to the first floor where you will see a large outside terrace with beautiful, uninterrupted views of the mountains beyond. On this floor is a galleried landing with a small double or twin room with shower room. Up a further flight of stairs and you reach the master bedroom with ensuite bathroom and great views. Each bedroom has a flat screen TV with DVDs and each bathroom offers complimentary Elemis toiletries. There is also a heated boot room and plenty of secure storage for skis and boards.

The Rhone/French Alps region
The Savoie region has a great climate. It gets extremely cold in winter (great for skiing) and beautifully warm in Summer (great for outdoor activities!). Courchevel is a North facing ski resort which provides great snow cover and, as it has high altitude at 2738m, the snow stays for longer. January can be extremely cold but with excellent snow while in April there is lovely sunshine but still great skiing to be had. The summers here are wonderful too with beautiful walks, lake swimming, zip wiring, mountain biking, canyoning, to name but a few. An undiscovered gem!
Courchevel is one of the most famous resorts in the world, favoured by Celebrities, Millionaires and Royalty. It is made up of five villages all defined by altitude. We are in the first, and original, village of Courchevel at 1150 metres and it has retained it's traditional feel with nice restaurants and beautiful scenery yet with excellent access around resort and beyond to the other Valleys. There are 650km of pistes to explore with something for every level all serviced by a fantastic network of chairlifts, cable cars, button lifts and gondolas.
Lake Annecy, labelled 'The most beautiful lake in France' is only 1 hour's drive away and well worth a visit. There is also the Vanoise National Park only a few minutes drive away with the most breathtaking scenery. Albertville is also a lovely city to visit especially Conflans the medieval town, stunning in Summer!
There is so much to do, apart from skiing, such as paragliding, hot air ballooning, snow shoeing, cross country skiing, a great sledge run which runs from 1850-1650. There is also an indoor climbing wall, ice skating and plenty of events throughout the season including the Ladies FIS World Cup on 17th/18th December and BMW Polo Tournament in January - the highest Polo Match in the world. There are restaurants to suit all tastes from traditional eateries to Michelin starred restaurants.
Courchevel has its own airport but a special licence is required to fly there and it is certainly not for the faint-hearted.
