About this location
The Aquitaine region
Petit Manoir is within a short drive of some of the most beautiful villages, vineyards and historic sites in South West France. The principal towns of Villenueve sur Lot, Agen and Bergerac are all within easy driving distance, whilst the smaller bastide villages nearby provide all the essentials and offer weekly markets and fêtes bursting with local produce. Particularly lovely is Issigeac's Sunday market, especially when followed by the fabulous Sunday Brunch buffet at Chez Allain, which has an enclosed terrace with a raised pond and garden area little ones enjoy.
More family fun and even watersports can be found at nearby riverside beach (sandy), which is just a ten minute drive away., and at the 'Magic Cauldron' eco farm, named after the pot in which the mohair of 250 angora goats is farm dyed! Little ones will love making friends with the animals which they can touch and feed including lambs and kids, goats, sheep, chickens, ducks, turkeys, large angora white rabbits, highland cattle and two of the largest grubbiest pigs ever seen! You can also try your hand at cheese or bread making.

"Beautiful house, great for families"
Petit Manoir is a beautiful house set in stunning rural French countryside. The decor is homely and tasteful, and the house is well equipped for cooking and for children, with plenty of toys, books, stair gates, etc. There are even tiny life jackets to protect your littlest adventurers around the pool.
The terrace overlooking the pool has a wonderful, uninterrupted outlook across the countryside, where we spent many an evening enjoying spectacular sunsets. We didn't hear or see another soul and having private use of the pool was a God send with lively children. We thought the pool was really well designed for children too, with a large shallow area for paddling.
I would definitely return to Petit Manoir and would recommend to friends and family.

"Spacious house with lovely garden and pool, peace and quiet."
This traditional, old French farmhouse is large and comfortable with a lovely garden and pool set in open country. It is not overlooked and is in a very quiet location. Children enjoyed spending time in the pool and hunting for bugs all around.
There is lots of equipment for families travelling with small children and lots of storage space, although there were too many appliances filling up the kitchen cupboards. Surround sound made watching films in the evenings a real treat. Beds and bathrooms are both very good, although some restricted headroom upstairs.
Family all enjoyed time spent at the house, but trips to local attractions took longer than expected as house is a bit off the beaten track.

"The Petit Manoir is enchanting! This is our 2nd year staying there"
Beautiful place, tastfully decorated throughout. This is our 2nd year at Le Petit Manoir and it's just as good second time round.
Loved the welcome pack on arrival complete with wine, local delicacies, fresh baguette, local aple juice and wine- such a lovely touch!
It's a truly relaxing place to stay- surrounded by lavender and rolling fields.

"A great house and perfect surroundings"
We found this house on babyfriendlyboltholes.co.uk, then liaised directly with the English owner via email. He was always quick to return emails and answer any questions we had.
Le Petit Manoir turned out to be even more beautiful than the photos on the website portrayed. The rooms, decor, furniture and fixtures & fittings were all of a high standard and the views were stunning. We really felt nestled in the countryside, far away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life – even though the nearest small town is only 10 minutes in the car.
A very friendly English caretaker gave us a warm welcome, and she had an excellent knowledge of the local area (market days; places to go; things to do with the children; etc). We did explore, but also spent a lot of our time at the house enjoying all it has to offer.
The house, garden and pool are all ideal spaces for children. Our toddler loved the tree swing and the ride-on toys and we all enjoyed having so much outside space to explore. There were plenty of inflatable toys for playtime in the pool, which has a large ledge in the shallow end that's ideal for paddling. We were there in the last week of September, so the water did feel a little cold on some of the days. I'd recommend bringing wetsuits for little children if you go at a similar time of year.
The house has plenty of toys and Disney DVDs for downtime and rainy days (If there are any!). Also, the stair-gate at the top of the stairs meant we had a large enclosed and carpeted area for our crawling 9 month old to safely explore. The house also has a wooden cot and a travel cot (which we used as a playpen downstairs). Little touches like glow-stars on the ceiling in the children's bedroom made it even more special for our toddler.
With its large eating areas outside and in, Le Petit Manoir is great for entertaining family and friends. The open plan kitchen/dining room is ideal for social meals, as no one needs to feel tucked away in the kitchen.
We really enjoyed our holiday here and hope to go back again.
