Guestbook for La Tuilerie De La Jalgue
La Tuilerie - The perfect French week tomii UK, Kent. Date of Stay: June 2008 This really was all that it promised to be from the description and photos on the website - in fact even better. It's a perfect place to go for one family or, as we did, as 2 couples & 1 child. The setting is stunning, on a hillside overlooking the vineyards and the spires of a distant village. The property inside is in very good order, clean and well stocked. Bedrooms are as pretty as a boutique hotel. A wonderful pack of goodies to get you started on arrival. Liz and family are very hepful, full of ideas of things to do if you aks them but leave you to enjoy your break. You have a lot of privacy with your own well maintained garden full of flowers and a BBQ. Pool is wonderful with incredible view as you float on a lilo. St Emillion is a short drive away and is a must see. Try canoeing down the dordoigne or a day trip to Europes biggest sand dune at Arcachon if your an explorer. In truth,of these 3 things we actually only did St Emillion . The temptation just to lounge in this amazing setting with a good book or play in the pool with our daughter was too great. Final thing. There's a fantastic restaurant les ramparts in nearby village with the most beautiful view across the valley. Food was of a high standard and extremely good value. Lovely Gite - Fabulous Location JECTRC London. Date of Stay: July 2008 We spent a week at La Tuilerie in July and thoroughly enjoyed it. The photos and description on the website are accurate and we were not disappointed at all on arrival which has happened with other Gites when the photographs have been carefully taken to hide nearby roads, buildings, farm sheds etc. Looking back at the photos makes me long to return. The setting of the Gite is idyllic, vineyards wherever you look and so quiet and peaceful. The surrounding countryside is beautiful. The gite is very well equipped and such a treat to have sheets as good as one's own on the beds - again this is not always to be found. Lizzie and David were perfect hosts, around and happy to be asked questions but not intrusive. We enjoyed cycling and canoeing on the Dordogne, playing tennis nearby and lazing around the pool. Would love to return next year. Our two teenage boys really appreciated a TV with english programmes although we would have been happy without it! Janet, Tim, William & Hugo
"away from it all..." staffs: newcastle, staffordshire. Date of stay: Sep 7, 2008 "Beautifully appointed and furnished, bags of space even for four sharing, fantastic views over unspoilt rolling french valleys and countryside and well removed from everything. Set in vineyard countryside the Gite is a wonderful place to relax and forget the pressures and daily routines of work and home. Liz makes a wonderful host, finding a perfect balance between being there when you have any questions but unobtrusive so as to make the holiday yours. While the gardens, pool and barbecue all provide more reason to spend more time at the gite just relaxing - though the marvellous St. Emilion vineyards are still too tantalisingly close not to venture out to a couple of times. Perfect for families, perfect for friends and perfect for couples looking to spend some quality time together.I'd recommend Lizzie's place very highly indeed."
The Lokat family said ' Thank you for making our first trip to France so memorable. The Gite, its location and facilities are fantastic. A perfect base to explore the beauty and fun of the area. Your hospitality, friendship and guidence made the holiday. we lookforward to our return here'
Mr & Mrs Rumble said ' we really didn't want to go. we have enjoyed the views, restaurants especially the garden. liz looked after us very well and this holiday will go down as one of our most memorable breaks from the hustle and bustle of London. thank you liz and dave for making it such a pleasant time.'
