Large, comfortable one bedroom luxury villa with stunning, uninterrupted views of the Atlantic Ocean. Balcony for perfect for al-fresco dining, complete with table, chairs, parasol and sun loungers. Even in high season, you will never feel over-crowded as the resort is split into 7 separate plazas, each with its own pool.

Well situated on Verde plaza (in the middle of a south-facing block) and directly overlooks a large, ornate pool - unique to Verde plaza only. Separate paddling pool for toddlers. Sunloungers are plentiful.

The villa has been tastefully decorated and finished to a high standard and has everything you need for a perfect self-catering holiday, including a fully fitted and equipped kitchen, complete with wine rack and breakfast bar. Table and chairs are also available for more formal dining. This villa offers a genuine "home from home" feeling with limited satellite TV and safety deposit box. Welcome pack can be arranged at a cost of €6.

The Lanzarote region

Lanzarote is situated just off the coast of Africa and is the most easterly of the Canary Islands, being the fourth largest island in the Canaries.

The island enjoys a mild dry climate and is the perfect year-round destination. It is also a volcanic island, often described as "lunar" or "Martian". Lanzarote boasts the longest volcanic tunnel in the world which is over 7 km long and includes La Cueva de los Verdes (fantastic optical illusion at the end of the tour) and Jameos del Aqua (which houses the spectacular and unique albino crabs [not found anywhere else in the world], with the lowest part of the cave being used occasionally as a concert hall). Both caves are well worth visiting.

Cesar Manrique, born in Arrecife (Lanzarote), was renowned as a painter, sculptor, architect, and ecologist - among other things. One of his creations is The Cactus Gardens where you can see an impressive collection of Cacti and sculptures.

Other areas of interest include Guinate Tropical Park and Penguin Paradise in northern Lanzarote which is home to many exotic birds, animals, reptiles and fish (great for the children), Timanfaya National Park (where you can experience a camel ride) followed by a trip to the top of fire mountain. Here you can witness a bizarre volcanic experience - or sample the food on offer in El Diablo restaurant.

Teguise old town is worth a visit on a non-market day Teguise used to the capital of Costa Teguise (until 1852) and you will find that the past is perfectly preserved here. The parish church of Guadalupe is the oldest on the island. In 1984, it was reformed and turned into the town art gallery displaying exhibitions of contemporary art. Opening times: Monday to Friday, 10am to 4pm, Saturdays and Sundays, 11am to 3pm.
El Palacio de Spinola is situated in the main square, known popularly as La Plaza de Los Leones; nowadays it is a museum with an exhibition gallery. Opening hours: every day except Wednesday, 9.30am to 2.30pm.
Shops are spread throughout the wide cobbled streets – it’s very quaint but may not be to everyone’s tastes, as it is not the hub of tourist attention. There’s a small fruit/vegetable/bread shop (quite insignificant frontage) where you will find the most juicy and tasty melon and strawberries. They also sell a range of organic foods, for those of you who want to make a tasty lunch. Again, a regular bus service to Teguise is available.

The Wine Museum of Lanzarote is located at the old cellars of the "El Grifo" wineries. While the buildings themselves are of some historical importance, so too are the ancient tools and machinery which have been preserved and are now on show in the wine museum. Entrance fee is 3 euro per adult which includes free wine tasting.

Why not visit Lanzarote Aquarium or , indeed, Mirador del Rio, Lanzarote's highest point, to take in the fabulous views of surrounding islands (open daily 10am-6pm).

For those interested in things nautical, a visit to Puerto Calero marina is a must, not only to enjoy the fabulous array of boats, but also to relax, unwind and enjoy the fine food on offer from the many restaurants lining the marina boardwalk. There is also a good selection of shops within the marina - something for the ladies to enjoy!

If you’re after an excursion which combines excitement for the kids and relaxation for adults, then a day of luxury Catamaran sailing with Catlanza (departing from Puerto Calero marina) should be on your list of things to do. The giant catamaran has a twin hull which ensures smooth sailing (great peace of mind for those of you who don’t have a best sea legs). Once on board, kids can join up with the crew and help them sail the boat and raise the huge sails. Once anchored at the beautiful beaches at Papagayo, the kids will be kept busy by enjoying a free jet-ski ride (with an instructor) and learn to snorkel. The excursion includes free food and drink – including the child-friendly option of pasta with either tuna or vegetarian sauce, plenty of salad and fresh fruit. It is a full day’s entertainment and, as you would expect, it is expensive - €60 for adults and €35 for children (under 16 years).

From Puerto del Carmen, the Blue Delfin is a very popular maritime excursion. The giant catamaran has 32 submarine windows, with plenty of opportunity to view the local marine wildlife close up. There are different tours on offer but the most popular is a day long excursion to the nearby islands of Fuerteventura and Los Lobos. Cost is about €45 for adults and €25 for children. Food and drink is included in the price. A variety of shorter excursions are available as well as a dolphin and whale watching cruise. For more information visit www.bluedelfin.com

For something a bit "wild", why not spend an evening at Rancho Texas Park near Puerto del Carmen (just a short bus trip away). Visit www.ranchotexaslanzarote.com for further details.

The best way to explore the island is by hiring a car and taking a few days to visit the areas of interest mentioned above.

Whatever you do on holiday, whether it is relaxing by the pool or exploring the island, have fun!

The Costa Teguise / Las Cucharas area

Costa Teguise is situated on the coast, in the central part of the island, and is one of Lanzarote's main tourist resorts. It is only a 20 minute drive from Arrecife Airport and is a convenient place from which to explore the island.

The island’s historic capital of Teguise is a 10 to 15 minute drive away, where a weekly market takes place every Sunday. When you are tired of bartering with the traders, you can visit many of the small cafes and bars within the market area for refreshments. Don't just visit the stalls - have a wander into the many "nook and cranny" shops (many of which are open daily) where you will find some crafts/unusual gifts/jewellery etc.

Weather in this part of the island is good all year round with the beaches generally windier than those in other resorts. It is therefore an ideal location for windsurfers and in the summer months, the constant breeze is very welcoming in the intense Lanzarote sun.

For those interested in windsurfing there are windsurfing schools, shops and equipment rental companies situated around the beach at Las Cucharas (only a short walk from Sands Beach Resort). Most levels of experience are catered for - from the novice to award-winning surfers.

Cycling and running are also quite widely enjoyed for the more energetic amongst you (bicycles available on hire).

There is no shortage of shops with plenty of jewellers, perfumeries, surf shops, leather goods shops, discount electrical stores and general gift shops, with most budgets and tastes being catered for.

Costa Teguise nightlife is lively but not rowdy - plenty of nighclubs and bars with varying entertainment on offer.

There is a good selection of bars - British, Irish and local style - in the resort.

Eating out is a pleasure in Costa Teguise as most tastes are catered for, from Chinese, Cantonese, Indian and International cuisine. Restaurants are open until late.

For those of you interested in golf, Costa Teguise has the island's only 18-hole golf course (just a 5 minute drive from Sands Beach Resort).

As an alternative to taking it easy by the pool at why not visit the island's only Aqua Park for a fun day out (but bring plenty of suncream!). The Aqua Park is a five minute drive, just a short distance from the golf course mentioned above.

For kids of all ages, the Centro de Ocia in Costa Teguise (recently opened) is a Leisure Centre for children of all ages with activities such as bowling, table football, soft play area, bouncy castle, playground etc. Please visit www.lanzaroteinformation.com for opening times etc. Centro de Ocia is situated behind the Netto supermarket, opposite Las Coronas. Obviously outdoor activities are the main focus on holiday but this could be something your children may enjoy for a few hours - when the novelty of the swimming pool wears off ...

The resort has good public transport with buses and taxis being readily available. To get the most from your holiday, however, visit the many attractions which are further afield by hiring a car.

Costa Teguise is suitable for couples, families, golfers and windsufers/water sport enthusiasts.

Transfer from Arrecife airport takes about 15 minutes by taxi and costs €20-€25. Taxis are always available outside the airport terminal building. You can also hire a car from the airport, if desired. However, there are many car hire companies based in Costa Teguise if you decide to do some sight-seeing for just a few days of your holiday - just price around as there are often offers available.

We have recently used www.moneysupermarket.com to get a good deal on car hire. They referred us to "autoriesen" (who are situated inside the terminal building as you approach the luggage collection point). We hired a Skode Fabia Estate for 7 days for €110. We travelled extensively throughout the 7 days and it only cost €20 to fill the car up with petrol again). Ceberera Medina seem to be the most expensive car rental company on the island.

“Fantastic family complex” Lovely well appointed apartment for myself on the drop down bed and my daughter and granddaughter in the bedroom. Our balcony overlooked a delightful pool where we would have breakfast being pestered by my granddaughter to go down to the pool. Hurry up granddad. A nice little private beach and a lively pool and bar on the complex. this place is great for families Response: I'm delighted with this response. I have had very positive feedback from my guests over the years when they return home and I can't see any reason why this will not continue. It is important that my guests enjoy their holiday and that I provide a first-class service and all the comforts associated with good quality holiday accommodation.

Hi Suzanne - we booked this apartment just one week before our holiday - Suzanne could not have been more helpful. Just to let you know that we had a fab time on holiday in your villa and both David & I felt that the view was fantastic - the beauty of your villa is that it was on the sunny side, that we could see the children from the
balcony, make a cup of tea when we wanted etc. Also, we did not have people walking past our door like some of the ground floor villas. The children enjoyed a few days at the mini-club and we found a lovely Italian in the cucharas shopping centre. I had two out of three children in tears when it was time to come home last Monday afternoon!!! We have been looking at flights to go back (within two days of returning). Just returned from Verde 15 where we had an excellent holiday. The apartment was fabulous - very bright and airy. The view over the sea was wonderful - very theraputic. Found a wonderful lagoon near Occidental Hotel - at the very end of the promenade - beautiful promenade walk from Sands Beach all the way to the lagoon. Teguise Old Town was very charming - we visited on a non-market day to get a real feel for this authentically Spanish village. Eating out was a pleasure - so many restaurants to choose from. Hired a car and travelled to many parts of the island with no difficulties. Would recommend Puerto Calero marina for a relaxing day out. Thoroughly enjoyed this holiday and will return again soon. Thank you for letting us stay at Verde 15. We had the most fabulous, relaxing and peaceful week. We were delighted with the apartment from the moment we arrived. It was beautifully furnished and had everything you could need. We knew that we had struck lucky as, in our opinion, Verde Plaza was the nicest. The resort caters for everyone. We had a fantastic holiday, we just chilled. The apartment was lovely - very bright and airy. The sunny balcony offered excellent sea and pool views. The complex had everything, it is was very clean and well kept, all the staff we very friendly and helpful. Although there is a supermarket, bars and restaurant on site, you are not far from the square, you really are in a great location. We had a wonderful meal at El Patio, also went to El Matador where we ordered so much tapas we ended up bringing some home!!! Also would recommend the Brocheton at Prado Verde. Hi Suzanne, Great to get away and enjoy some sunshine. The whole Sands Beach complex is well laid out and very well maintained. The villa itself was clean, tidy and well organised when we arrived. Verde 15 was great, a real home from home, in a quiet spot but close enough to everything we needed. I got to read in the sun and Brian was able to get in plenty of cycling. There is an excellent choice of restaurants within walking distance and the beaches are lovely. Never been to Lanzarote before so it was a nice introduction and it is likely that we will return. Suzanne, have just returned from a fabulous 2 weeks holiday in your apartment it was like a home from home with of course the stunning sea view. All the staff on the resort were very friendly and helpful. We didn't have to go far to find some really good restaurants. The local bus service was great for getting about too. Hi Suzanne - John & I had a lovely relaxing holiday and enjoyed the comforts of the apartment. We had mixed weather but managed to wear our short & t/shirts most days. We caught the bus twice once into Arrecife & then into Peurto del Carmen. We hired a car for two days & visited the cactus gardens, mirador del rio, the timanfaya national park & playa blanca to name a few. Eating places we enjoyed: el maestro restaurant across from the totem poles on the sea front (wonderful tapas) & the buffet at the hacienda on the complex had a wonderful choice of dishes. The complex was well run and kept spotless by the army of cleaners. The view over the pool & the atlantic was superb but a pity non of the wonderful pools were heated except for the lagoon pool. There was plenty of hot water for showering with a change of towels mid week. We feel hat a week wasnt long enough to enjoy all the sights so we may be contacting you again in the future to book your lovely apartment. Verde 15 provided everytyhing we could have wanted for a relaxing holiday in a clean well appointed apartment. the views from the apartment and balcony were lovely and we thought that the Verde Plaza was thebest in Sands Beach. The facilities on the complex were great and we made use of most of them. We enjoyed the movie channel and just being able to relax in comfort with plenty of space. My son loved the pull down bed. The Villa has everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing break especially at the time of year when we were there as it is so quiet and peaceful. The Sands complex is a great place in a great location. Costa Teguise is one of my favourite resorts in the Canaries. There is everything you need clsoe by with some excellent bars and first class restaurants. Make sure that you book a car at the airport (approx £100 for a week with Autoreisen) and get out and about on this beautiful island. Mum and I had a wonderful stay, it was so very peaceful, for most days we didn't have to share the pool with more then 5 or 6 other people and being 1st floor meant we didn't have to put up with anyone wandering past the door at all hours. I have left very positive feedback because we had a wonderful time, the apartment was perfect for all of our needs. Also the welcome pack was fab, handy to be able to make a cuppa on arrival and the biscuits a lovely touch. Overall we really enjoyed the resort, and may well contact you again to book, Mum is certainly recommending it. Just want to say thanks for great holiday. We had a great time at Verde 15. The apartment is lovely and finishing
touches, e.g. the plentiful supply of good quality towels, made our stay very comfortable indeed. The check in was really easy and the key box was great as it saved me worrying about losing the key when we left the apartment! We enjoyed the sea view from the balcony, and even dined al fresco a couple of times once I had mastered the oven! We tried a lot of the local restaurants, our favourites were Divina Italia, Mastil, Oscars and the Chinese buffet at China palace.(great value and very friendly staff). Enjoyed 'Elvis' at the lighthouse, and the singalong in Robinsons was a great night. (also enjoyed the free half time pasta when Italy were playing in the World Cup!) All in all, a great holiday. Hi Suzanne - Just to say thanks for the use of your villa - it was excellant. The route from airport was better than a sat nav, and got us to Sands Beach in no time at all. . Your accommodation was as described, very clean and the girls who looked after the towels and laundry very friendly. We took advantage of your books - I brought 3 with me but was so relaxed i needed to borrow another 3 of yours - many thanks!!!!

We had a fantastic holiday and your apartment was spot on. It had everything anyone could need: it's well furnished, very comfortable and ideally situated. The balcony was great a right little suntrap with great views.It was nice to be able to cook on the odd days where we decided to eat in. It was nice not to have to get up at the crack of dawn to get a sun bed and just leisurely spend the day by the pool. We would definitely return and recommend it to friends and family. Hi Suzanne - we had a fabulous time at Verde 15 - with great weather - like being in our other home, as this is the second time we have returned to your apartment !!! We both sat down last week and watched 'A place in the sun' and wanted to get the next plane back!!! We always go th Portobello for dinner and when we called in on the first Tuesday, we were immediately recognised and from then on our table was 'reservado'! could not fault your home again - we love it! Suzanne, many thanks for the lovely 10 days in your gorgeous villa. The view from your balcony is out of this world! Very cosy and would have been romantic had there not been four teenagers with us LOL! Costa Teguise is really lovely - we found a brilliant beach for snorkelling - crystal clear water, hundreds of little colourful fish and beautiful sandy beach. Thanks again for all your tips and advice as to where to eat and shop for food; as you know we were on a strict budget, but with your help we managed to save an extra 50 euros for the last day, and we ate out most days! Suzanne, thoroughly enjoyed the resort and your apartment - very comfy. We loved the fact that we could walk everywhere, could sit on the balcony and enjoy the views and chill. The sea activity was much more than we have had on other Canary islands. Took a walk into the main part of the town every day. We found the meals out very reasonable. Rented a car for two days and saw a bit of the island. My particular favorite was Yaiza - so pretty. Life was good on holiday. One of Heidi's staff, Tracey, was very atttentive.
