Enquire nowThe Lanzarote region
Most people visit Lanzarote to enjoy the year round warm climate, it's unique landscape and to sample the Islands cultural centres, most of which have been influenced by the famous artist Cesar Manrique.
The island is 37 miles long and 20 miles wide and is a perfect destination for sun-lovers and those who love water sports such as surfing, windsurfing, kitesurfing, sailing, snorkelling and diving. Spectacular walking scenery and stunning mountain biking are on offer.
Beaches of all sorts can be found - including white, golden and volcanic black sand beaches - those that are suitable and safe for families, remote and wild for the surfer and even at Charco de Palo one ideal for naturists.
The Costa Teguise area
Costa Teguise is a family orientated and friendly place with a choice of safe and sandy beaches. There is a delightful sea-front walk on the promenade for walkers and cyclists and joggers alike. A beautifully kept resort with numerous new paths away from any traffic connecting all the different parts of the town. Costa Teguise is located on the eastern side of Lanzarote, close to the capital and only 10 to 15 minutes by car from the airport. It offers all types of activities and is one of the most attractive tourist areas on Lanzarote thanks to its array of beaches, variety of restauarants and bars and the general tranquillity found here. This is definitely one of the preferred destinations for families visiting the island. The night -life - is better described as lively, certainly not rowdy and thanks to planning laws across Lanzarote has not been spoilt with high rise developments.
One of the great appeals of Costa Teguise is its recreational facilities which run from a large variety of water activities to a golf course and water park. You’ll find several windsurfing schools along the Cucharas Beach and Jablillo Avenue.
Sporting and cultural events in Costa Teguise have multiplied during the last years. Qualifiers for the PWA Windsurfing World Championship at Cucharas Beach in June, the Costa Music Festival in September, the Brazilian Music Festival in June, are among the many events that take place here.
But above all the major draw of Costa Teguise are the beaches. Cucharas beach is most appreciated by windsurf lovers while Bastian Beach is ideal for families with small children since it is easily accessible and protected from the winds. Though smaller than the others, the fine white sandy beach of Jablillo is also of note.
If you are in Costa Teguise, you should visit the Pueblo Marinero which is a cluster of typical Canary buildings as conceived by the artist, César Manrique. Restaurants, pubs and shops, as well as a market held every Friday from 19:00 hours, can be found there.
Recent years have seen improvements in the Costa Teguise infrastructure with new highways, better signage and tourist facilities among others. The Costa Teguise tourist office has undergone changes as well; it has been moved to the edge of Pueblo Marinero, which has also had a major facelift.
As an interesting aside, the house that King Hussein of Jordan presented to King Juan Carlos can be found in Costa Teguise.

Great spacious quiet apartment, with all you need for a good self catering holiday, being here for a month we really appreciated it.There is even a chip pan and shopper on wheels and you can save on case weight allowance , as there is a hairdryer and straightners . We appreciated the 50 inch TV and Cyclone box,we watched several films and TV shows we had missed , as we didn't go out every night. The washing machine was great ,brand new and it played a tune when the cycle finished -I want one !! The bed was very comfortable ,although some of the pillows need replacing . An earlier reviewer had said the bedding was looking tired and needed replacing,we were only there a couple of days and Mike the owner and his partner Jane came round with 2 new duvet sets and extra towels((the ad says no beach towels but there were 3 in a drawer.) Mike stayed a while and gave us some local info , as it was our first visit to costa teguise . The apartment was a 10min walk to Ave Islas Canarias, where you will find the main square Pueblo Marinaros full of bars and restaurants, its a must for a visit ,it is also where the market takes place twice a week on Wed and Fri evenings.Another 5 mins takes you to the beach, although Playa Bastion is closer. The pool area was very clean and well maintained and we enjoyed the large roof terrace which we had to ourselves for the month. It was great having the computer and printer for our on line check in and e-mails ,used it quite a bit . There were a couple of areas in the apartment needed a little TLC ,but I have no hesitation in recommending this as a value for money apartment. Only downside for us was lack of terrace ,we knew this before we went ,just didn't realise how much we would miss it . Lastly , we used Last minute transfers ,only 10 euro for us both ,arrived on time and just two pick ups on the way to the airport. Response: Thank you for taking the time and trouble to write this full review, very useful to prospective visitors, we appreciate it. |

Bungalow is in a quiet residential area which is within a 15 minute walk of good restaurants and bars. The only improvement I would make to the bungalow would be to get some new bedding and pillows, all of which are very tired and worn looking. Other than that we enjoyed our stay. Response: Thanks very much for your review - we appreciate the time you have taken to write. Thank you also for coming to stay. |
