The Sardinia region

Situated in the middle of the med, east of Italy, the very isolation of this large island has shaped its unique character.

For thousands of years Sardinia has stood on the sidelines of mainstream historical events, remaining a singular world to itself. Even the Roman’s found it a difficult place to subdue!

Sardinia offers a superb coastline, unspoilt and unchanged, with fascinating historical interior and stunning mountainous landscape, rock formations, prehistoric dwellings and waterfalls.

Costa Smeralda / Olbia area

The town of Olbia is only 220kms from mainland Italy and has always been the main arrival point on the island. As well as the airport and harbour servicing the Costa Smerelda region, this attractive town also serves the region with superb restaurants, shopping and local events including religious street festivals and markets. Places of interest include the Roman cistern in Piazza Margherita and the San Simplistico church.

The attraction of this area is that it is natural, unspoilt and exclusive.
Sailing craft available with our without skipper. Details on arrival.
The sea water is crystal clear, containing glitter granite particles giving the water the famous "emerald" hue.. Facilities include sub aqua, snorkelling, (famous protected coral reefs) swimming, sailing and wind surfing. The magic of this area cannot be fully explained, only experienced. A coastal drive into Porto Rotondo or Cervo for lunch is reminiscent of the Cap Ferrat in the 1950’s.Excellent golf at Pevero course nearby.

How to get there

Ryanair from Stansted all year round to Alghero from £1.99, then a drive across the island on superb roads to Olbia.

OR

Easyjet cheap flights from Gatwick direct to Olbia, now all year round.
Pittulongu is then a ten minute drive from Olbia.Flights also now available country wide.
